AA 22lr coversion kit bring back from U.S

Can I bring back the advantage arms 22lr conversion kit from the U.S. Would there be problems at airport, is it classed as just parts? anyone know:confused:
 
You will need an import permit to legally bring it into Canada.

This isn't that big of a deal though Clive Law at the Department Of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will issue you one.

"...need an import permit..." That you'll need to get the export permit from the U.S. government. Our Customs ninnies would likely want to know where you've hidden the rest of the pistol. Have the paperwork in order, then you'll have to pay the taxes and duty.
 
I brought on in for my G20 2 years ago.

Absolutely no problems with our customs...

You will have to pay taxes but there are no duties.
 
so probably wont be much cheaper than buying it here in Canada then...anyone know who has the best deal on these in stock?
 
Canadian law doesn't require you to get an import permit. You only need the import permit so you can get an export permit from US.

Unless yur getting a smoking deal on it in the US, its most likely easier just to buy local. Average price I have seen in the us is $230+ or roughly $280 to$300CAD. Add to that all yur time in getting the paperwork etc and I would venture to guess its best to find a CDN retailer. Yur still going to pay GST no matter which way you go..

I`m in the U.S now so could I buy one, put it in my luggage? would I still need an export license if I can just go buy one in person here and put in in my checked luggage??????
 
Doing that without an export permit, would break the Law on the US side.

FWIW...discussing such activities violates CGN Rules and can bring about a permanent ban.

If TSE (CGN sponser:) ) is out of stock, you can try Jo at Police Ord. I got mine from there because I wasn't aware that TSE sold them. When I phoned AA to see who their Canadian distributors were she only gave me one name. I believe I paid ~$350 for the G20/21 model and ~$40 per mag.

Forget the whole export permit exercise. By the time you get it all in order and pay the associated fees, I'd bet it will be no cheaper than sourcing it here...

TSE is out of stock , sent an email of to Jo at P.O. How do you like your AA kit on the G21?
 
I like the AA kit. It works as advertised and makes shooting cheap. I did have a couple of FTFs with each mag as I started using it but that seems to have stopped. I say seems because I have only had the oppertunity to dump less than 500 rounds though it at this point. Mine likes the Mini mags and hates the AE stuff.

It is neat to reduce the cost of your shooting but I really miss the recoil of a .45 round....When I shoot the AA kit it seems like a series of squib loads.:D The slide also has less weight being aluminium so the gun feels quite different in the hand. However, I have found that it is quite a benefit to get to practice with the trigger of the Glock on the cheap. It has improved my groups in both .22 and .45. Overall, if you can deal with the above it is a good buy. It is at least as accurate as the .45 as well, at least mine is. Rapid fire is fun with it too as it won't break the bank...

Bottom line for me is I would buy it again if given the chance over. YMMV. Hopefully some other AA owners will chime in and give you a more complete picture.
 
Max Power: Thanks for the feedback on the AA Glock kit. I'll be looking into one once I land my G17.

You mentioned that extra magazines are available , eh?
