AAC Silencer Shoot 2009

So I go to these shoots years ago and hardly anyone takes any notice. KevB goes Johnny-come-lately and everyone fawns all over him like some kind of tactical god. :(

Hope you had fun Kev. An entire shoot without a single unsuppressed shot is a really unique experience, especially for us CDNs.

There is a thread on Lightfighter.net asking for captions for the exact same photo. Some of them are priceless LOL

P - yeah you did, but you never shared your pics.
I was surprised you missed this one.

Next year you gotta come, it will be in a whole lot better, and I may talk to Kevin (H20) and shoot a M14..............................

Not to worry, I will have some 7.62mm goodness for you "above the table" next year for you that will make you want to take the M1-4 out the woods on a one way walk ;)

Well it's not the SCAR-H... you must be referring to something new... something that's still on the drawing board.

Not true, I did on both occasions. I even tried to get other CDNs to come down to the Silencer Research shoot in 08 but there were no takers. Apparently the denizens of this board are all talk and no action when it comes to the really cool stuff.

Don't seriously see myself going to another AAC shoot as them and I don't play well together.

Have been working on my own stuff and seeing some really decent results recently.

As to M14's, I wasn't overly impressed last time I saw one shot suppressed. The problem with all piston driven gas guns is they vent high pressure gas to the atmosphere which limits the suppression to roughly 142 dB when the hearing safe limit is 139 dB. Also M14's are long rifles and adding a long can to the end means you get a system as long as a broomstick which isn't very user friendly. The entire suppressed .308 semi-auto needs to be rethunk and designed specifically for suppressed use with a gas system that does not vent to atmosphere.

I genuinely thought about going to the S-R shoot, but timings didn't work out for me. Being on a ship, and having a busy schedule at the time...well....my only experience with suppressed weapons is the MP-5SD that I shot in Boston once, and the Timberwolf I fired a couple years ago at the CFSC.

I'd still like to volunteer to help with testing in HFX if anyone needs help!
