Accurate .223 NR black rifle suggestions?

Guy I traded my Weatherbly sure bagged a yote with the T97, that the picture he send of the gun to me, was ontop of a yote.

AR180B are nice.

SL-8 is the best bet. There was another non restricted 5.56 " called a Swiss something or other" but I don't see them around any more.

Thanks for the input so far. The SL8 has been on my short list since I started research.

Out of curiosity, why would a restricted AR15 be more accurate than a NR black gun?

Some of the high end AR15\s with heavy match barrels can shoot par with bolt guns and out shoot the SL8. This development in AR15's has come around from long range target shooting competitions and the demand of varmint hunters in the USA where you can hunt with the AR15. This should not be an issue for your purchase as the AR15 is restricted here.

That stock can be swapped out easy enough on the SL8. I have a Hera Arms lower on mine sporting an ACR folder. I had the ACR fixed on it that I picked up from cr5 but since then I made the mistake of letting my wife shoot it and since she is a small girl I had to go with something that could give her a shorter LOP. Something else to keep in mind is you want MOA you need some real glass on top. At least X16. I have a Vortex 6.5x20x44 on mine.

For the truly dedicated to re-stock, ammo develop, handload, upgrade optics etc on any black rifle, you are looking at spending quite a tidy sum of money, ( I won't even try and guess how much!) All to shoot MOA. For the time and effort and cost, perhaps the OPs pre-existing 700 will do just fine? I like an accurate rifle, don't get me wrong, but I don't think my skills, eyesight or my wallet can even come close to the inherent accuracy of a bone stock T97 even with an FTU! To Moe and cr5, I truly admire your dedication to the art. Thanks for the info.

I bought a used Tavor from this site and use it for coyote hunting. I put a Bushnell AR 4-18 scope on it and it works great for me. I use Hornady 55gr GMX with it.

There is no such thing as a MOA or better semi auto black rifle in Canada. Good accurate semi autos will do 1 to 1.5 with handloads and a good shooter with optics. Most black rifles are generally 2.0 to 3.5 inch groups with factory ammo.

In your price range you set and for the accuracy you want you should look at a Benelli MR1 or HK SL8. Those will meet your criteria best even though they do not shoot MOA.
the swiss arms sniper shipped with a target that proves that theory wrong, but sadly it is caught in this new legislation. SL8 is also capable with good ammo

True that. If I were the OP and wanted an easier way to MOA I would just stick to the 700. MOA as you state is possible in an NR semi but at what cost? To build my setup you would be into close to 5K! Worth it? Probably not for most. For me it was but was in a position to do it, and was dreaming of having a NR semi rifle for precision work since the day they told me I could not hunt anymore with my Colt AR15. For yotes if I were to pick out a semi NR rifle I would go with a cheaper and lighter. The accuracy is just not needed. I would be happy with a 97, mini14, CZ or an MR1 for that. But if you want that MOA your in for an SL8.

One more vote for the SL8. Mine shot consistently under 1" at 100 yard with 62gr and 75gr hand loads.
I have since changed the barrel to 12.5" and it's still very accurate, but I'm not sure I can get 1" at 100. I'll be doing some scope swaps soon, maybe I'll throw something better then a red dot on and try it.

But SL8 with the 20" barrel is the only gun that fits your semi auto and accurate criteria, that's commonly available.
I'm hoping my 18.5" ACR match barrel will do it. But the rifle is not commonly available in that configuration.

Hi Moe!
I was bracing for a flame but thank you for seeing my point! :)
I think the OP's needs for a yote gun and a 1MOA black gun within his criteria of cost and easy resale is difficult to find and, absolutely, you don't need MOA to hunt yotes!

XCR-L at 400m with 30km crosswind...Norinco Ammo

I have shot sub MOA with my SL8. It is always 1.5 or better . It is me more than the rifle as far as accuracy is concerned.

I have went shooting with Moe and he is a better shot. He could shoot my rifle with better results.

Moe purchased a SL8 after shooting mine. His had the Hera conversion done. We went to the range after with both rifles, both were consistant in results. The rifles performed just about the same with shooting the same ammo and shooters.

When I decided to get s NR black rifle my main requirement was accuracy. I wanted 1.5 MOA or better with constancy. The SL8 has delivered. I have put over 1000 rounds through with no malfunctions. I am happy with this rifle.

That must be one of those XCR's that was pi$$ed on by a unicorn and has magic ferries living in the grip storge.
Can probably shoot down alien space ships in orbit.

Hahaha this one made my day!....

My ddm4v5 don't even shoot the norc that good at 50 yards lol

Swiss Arms Black Special (PE90, or the SIG550, whoever you believe), before it went prohib by the RCMP. SIG claims it is a MOA rifle and ships it with its "proof" target sheet from the factory.
