ACR Media and Info Thread

You will need to ask Arms East, but I thought that someone mentioned they would be drilled already. They've since pulled the barrels from their 'site, as you know.

Yep, that's what I thought. I know they pulled them off their site because the extra barrels didn't ship with the original orders, but they will be reposted shortly according to Arms East. I hope they're ready to install. It's a shame that the rest of the assembly is a pain in the ass to get from Gravel....or is it? Does anyone have a list of parts we need to order from them? It would be nice to have a complete assembly as a spare.

If you know a verifier you're one step closer. The CFO is slow to do it but you can still use it following the restricted rules until it's off the registry.

Yeah, that's what my buddy said. He suggested at first to go to Dlask, but if Arms East has barrels for $399, I could save a ton of money doing it myself.

Just remember that there is no point having the 16 inch ready to install with a full gas system once you make it non restricted. Once you legally convert it you can't legally put the restricted length barrel back in without calling the CFO and having it reregistered as restricted again even if you're at an approved range.
The only reason to have a second gas system is if you're going to have another non restricted length barrel in another caliber.
I'm hoping to do some testing on my 6.8SPC conversion over the next couple weeks, once I have it working I'll probably sell it with the bolt and a couple magazines to fund my next conversion kit. The 6.8 isn't enough of an improvement over the 300BLK for me to justify having both and since I have two other rifles in 300BLK I'll be sticking with that.

I used to have a list of part numbers for the complete gas system and barrel retention. If I can find it I'll post it again.

Man, you area wealth of information, and potentially a source of a spare barrel kit (6.8), haha! I'll keep an eye out for your posts, thanks!

CR5 is one of the few fellows going whole hog into the conversions. Nice to see someone doing it.

Him and Stormchaser are two of the best resources and experienced shooters out there (not to mention, EXTREMLY helpful and friendly! that goes along way)

There was a NR ACR on the EE in 7.62x39 that I was dying for, but I had nothing but trades to offer and he wasn't interested. That would've been a fun little gun!

Yup, I'm definitely getting that vibe and I'm really happy that guys like you and him are so active in this thread.

Thanks!

to make it a little cheaper and less chance of damaging your expensive finish on the barrel, just have a gas block and piston support on every barrel, the rest swaps over quickly and saves you some money

I have a second gas system other than the gas regulator which I swap back and forth. I wish I had a third gas system so all three of my barrels had their own gas system.

Brian, you would also need the barrel retention nut, spacer and handle since the gas block needs to come off to get those parts installed.

Just placed an order for the DMR stock from Numrich. Here's to hoping the don't cancel it... :)

Now all I need is to find teh ACC flash hider.

Since I haven't posted a pic here in a while I figured I'd share one I took last night.
This is my ACR with NR 300BLK kit installed and my fake suppressor installed. I like the look of it like this :)

Man, that's good looking rifle.......

Thanks,
This was the first time I've put the fake suppressor on it, I like the looks of it like this and may just keep it on. It adds almost no weight (made of aluminum) and makes the non restricted length barrel look a lot better.
Hopefully the different muzzle device doesn't negatively effect the barrel harmonic/accuracy, my 155gr A-max handload has made quite a few 0.85-0.9 moa groups with the linear comp on it.

Well, just ordered one of these:

Will be consulting heavily with this thread on swapping barrels :)

^ See my post on the other thread. If the photo above is accurate, you will need to to drill the barrel in a press to allow the gas block cross pins to go on. Not that hard but I don't have the tools to do it well at home, personally. So unless you do, add this to the cost.

Yeah, just saw your post, lol! I already placed the order, so I'm hoping they can sort these out for us. If not, I think cr5 mentioned that it is possible for me to do it myself with a file and a lot of patience? $hit, lol!
