ACR Media and Info Thread

Gravel just shipped a bunch out so the $175 is above retail

What do they retail for? Sounds like a good time for a lowball offer ;)

I totally understand people wanting to ditch the quadrail forend but I actually like the polymer one. I'm hoping someone with a restricted ACR takes me up on my trade offer for my Rem700 in Tac-21 chassis. With three NR caliber converion kits now I'd like a black one again and with an aftermarket forend in the works the polymer ones should become more readily available and drop in price on the EE.

I double checked, he wants $150 or $175 with a firing pin.

Ya, I keep shaking my head. I bought my restricted with Geissele trigger and custom 12 inch barrel a couple years ago for less than people are selling a bare bones stock restricted rifle for now.
Figure if I ever decide to sell mine I should make some good money on it.

prices increase each year from the distributors on the exact same rifles, some of my European stuff is thousands of dollars more for the same item today as you could have bought 10 years ago.

Quality stuff appreciates as time goes on and limited production runs go up even faster, at current interest rate, it is a better return than having money sit in the bank lol

I got my 450 Bushmaster back from Herron Arms, it feels quite a bit lighter. I want to get a moose with it. :)

It will be lighter than a factory restricted 223 if you went light profile barrel simply due to the size of the hole down the middle of the barrel.

cant wait for him to finish my Rem 30AR conversion

I took my 6.8SPC conversion off the EE. I'm surprised there wasn't more interest in it. Seems everyone wants a match grade stainless barrel with everything including dies and brass and mags for under $500. I'll just keep it and see just how accurate it is. My 300BLK conversion is giving sub moa so this one should easily be capable of the same.

I think it is more the caliber, I want big thumping power when I started looking at conversions, then did the 7.62x39 because cheap. only other caliber that interests me is 50, but with the mag issue is just garbage that you don't want to have to deal with out hunting

I bought the 6.8 barrel specifically for hunting deer then relaized it isn't much different than my 300BLK with similar bullet weight but the 300 is more versatile outside of hunting loads. The 6.8 does outperform it but not by enough to have both. I'll just hang onto it till I come across someone who is willing to pay a reasonable price for it. I'll do some load development, with some pics of targets showing what it can do I think it will be an easier sale.

Needs a bit more break-in, and the Viper PST wasn't doing me any favours... But it shows promise. I'll be trying a few more varieties of ammo on Monday but this was the best of the day...

I have more plates with some other ammo, just elbows deep in cleaning AR bcgs right now. I'll post all the results in a bit. Shot 100 percent reliable though... I really like the charging handle; it really shows how much the AR charging handle sucks.

Okay boys...took it out this morning (DMR) for a bit. Not the best setup at the private range today, but results look promising. NXS 2.5-10x24 on top. Had it zeroed for 55gr, so was surprised how low the 77 gr was (never tried it before!)

That was PMC 77gr match - and the one was a called flyer. About one round every 5 seconds, so probably could do better. 118 yards. From a somewhat wobbly table with front and rear bags. But I'll take it! :)

My hand load VMAX 55gr were about 1" groups. 55gr Federal was about 2" groups, so not terrible. Didn't get a chance to try 62gr green tips, as I got busy with the kids shooting the SR-22. :) Will try to get a better range session in the coming weeks.

Overall impressed with the gun. Heavy, but makes recoil almost zero. Trigger is good with crisp clean break.
