Has anyone had their acr's converted, if so how much and where from? A site has the restricted on sale this weekend, wondering what the total cost would be or if I should just look at buying it already converted. Thanks,

converted at Arms East, cost about 500$ taxes in and everything.

depending on the barrel:
you can get a dlask conversion all included for 600$
herron would be more expensive but wayyyy better barrel and no fack ups

problem is bro is that youre still on a previous list from it being R registered to you before. For some people it doesnt matter, it didnt used to matter to me, but now it matters a whole lot. This gvt and the RCMP has declared war on us.

best to buy it already NR from someone else on the EE.

Relax, just having a PAL puts you on the "kick in that door!" list.

I could have sworn I posted pics of a group I did, but I guess not?

5 round group at 100m:

I wasn’t very smart about optics choices when I took the rifle to the range to test groups. I had a 2moa Aimpoint Pro on there with an Eotech 3x flip to side magnifier. I should have put on proper glass, but I was too lazy and I paid the consequences at the range by not being able to figure out the best groups.

So, with a 2moa dot, that covers a 2 inch area at 100 yards, so at 100m, maybe a bit more? I printed off some rifle targets from midwayusa.com but the target circles were just about covered under that red dot under the lowest brightness setting, nevermind seeing the centre of the target.

So basically, I may as well have taken the rounds out of the mag and thrown them downrange. I had the rifle resting on sandbags, but honestly it was kind of a waste of time. I tested 69gr and 77gr Federal Premium Gold Medal Match Sierra Match Kinds, as well as 55g Hornady Steel Match and some 55gr American Eagle. The least crappiest was the 69gr SMKs, but when I stay crappy, the performance can easily be attributed to my poor skill as a shooter and my equally poor choice to bring a red dot for precision shooting.

I still have yet to get some half decent glass on my rifle.

This doesn't matter much... if they ask about it you already sold it.

If CGN'ers only knew how few police in Canada are actually dedicated to firearms specific investigations they'd realize they have less then zero to worry about. Of course, if you get caught beating your wife, or driving drunk, with an insecure, illegal firearm next to you, then complain away. There are literally thousands of people with expired RPALS in Canada that own restricted firearms, and prohibs that never get investigated, beyond a letter, or phone call, at most. But hey, fear mongering is fun, and it creates mouse clicks, so let her rip.

It finally came in. Now it completely hides the gas block.

From my understanding, the fixed stock shaves a few ounces, and most find they set the adjustable to the same length as the fixed, and some have had issues with the folder getting loose. Others also never use the folder feature.

I can see why some might opt for a fixed.

Exactly. Fixed stock is a bit lighter, I realized I never folded or adjusted it anyway, and I like the look of it better. I may put a folder back on it at some point - takes literally seconds to switch.

Ironic part is, I put ACR folders on both of my XCRs as I wasn't a FAST stock fan.

I keep wanting to try a fixed stock, but givens my rifle is already front heavy I have not been able to convince myself overall weight savings exceed the advantages of a well balenced rifle.

My Brownells special order is still B/O fir that handguard...lol...

i did the same thing and i was gonna just wait it out, until i saw one on the EE over there. Bought it, and cancelled the BO from Brownells. That reminds me, i shall cancel the BO of the take down pin and detent from Gravel as well because Brownells couldn't confirm the fact that the new handguard may or may not comes completed with the pin.
