Got my 18.75" barrel back from Barry (Bits of Pieces). Nice guy, the work looks good, took a bit longer than expected, but since I was warned in advance, I'm not bothered by it. He sure didn't charge very much :)

Anyway, hope I can get some range time with it this weekend. I've got some American Eagle 55gr, Federal SMKs in 69 and 77gr, as well as Hornady Steel Match in 55gr, hopefully it likes something I have.

Judging from this range report though, I'm not expecting much, yikes!

For those interested in the accuracy of these rifles.

Non-restricted barrel, chrome lined, 1/7" twist rate.

First field day 50 yards at the sitting position.

optics: swarovski L3 3-10x
ammunition: PMC 55gr
Federal premium 69gr
Federal Premium 77gr

PMC 55gr;
-Only good for plinking for this rifle, groupings not worth mentioning.

Federal Premium 69gr, 50 yards;
-1.06''
-1.36"
-0.99"
-1.54"
-1.77"
average of 1.34

Federal Premium 77g, 50 yards;
-1.62"
-1.95"
-2.09"
-1.44"
-2.43"
average of 1.90

Federal premium standing, 25 yards, 4 seconds, group of 3.67

FP 77gr seems to have a wider grouping, might be because i was no longer comfortable. For first trial FP 69gr appears better for this type of barrel. I would expect better accuracy shooting at the prone and with the Stainless Steel barrel.

These are first day handling this rifle results. These results will change on my next field trip testing and as well testing whether this rifle keeps zero after removal of the barrel.

Don't be a #### with your opinions.

chrome lined barrels are typically not as accurate because it is impossible to get the same uniformed thickness of chrome throughout the whole length of the barrel during the chroming process. If you want the best possible accuracy, chrome is not the way to go.

Sweet.

Did you do anything with the machine screws that slid into the notch at the front of the handguard? I have the MSK guard too and the fitting isn't that great. It needs a larger diameter screw if I recall correctly. BTW, HK push pins are a better fitting replacement for the junky one it came with. :)

Only problem is I have the black MSK handguard but the ACR is brown. LOL.

A bit unusual to post an accuracy review using sitting unsupported at 50 yards when we have come to expect 100m supported accuracy. I read it as a review of shooter cability I guess? To each his own.

We are hearing ~>1.1-1.5MOA performance with the right ammo from customers.

How did your rifle shoot before the barrel swap?

There's a guy parting out a Coyote ACR on Airsoft Canada right now, made an offer but he didn't reply. I'm temporarily using a couple of casings from 22lr plugged onto the factory MSK screws, really micky mouse, but they appear to be on there tight....for now. I will have to find a more pernament method.

Yeah, he was shooting from the seated which is sort of....different for an accuracy test. I'm sure it will do far better than that from a bench on sand bags :)

i have a dlask barrel
thing runs like a tank!

Since we are comparing other peoples conversions now

My Herron Arms converted 450 Bushmaster ACR shoots under 1MOA bagged on a bench with factory Remington 260gr ammo

My ACR has shot numerous sub moa groups with the custom stainless 300BLK barrel and 155gr A-max but I still haven't given the stainless Questar 223 Wylde barrel a proper test with different factory ammo or handloads to see what it will do.

I had a dismal range day today. I didn't bother looking for a decent optic to bring with me, figured the Aimpoint Pro with a 3x magnifier behind it was good enough. Epic fail on my part as the targets on the target sheets (rifle target sheet downloaded from Midwayusa) were completely covered under the 2MOA red dot on the lowest setting. Basically, attempting to shoot groups today was a total waste of time. My best group was 1.6in at 100m. Keep in mind though, I am a pretty $hitty shot and using the irons would probably produce worse groups.

That being said though, I'm fairly confident the Arms East barrel is capable of shooting close to MOA groups with proper optics. I'll post some pictures when I have a chance, but I will definitely have to go out again sometime. The least worst of my crappy groups was produced by 69gr Federal Premium Gold Medal Match SMKs. I tried 77gr SMKs, 55gr Hornady Steel Match, as well as the 55gr AE stuff, but again, not properly done range test so I'll have to try again.
