there is nothing quick about changing the barrel, an AR barrel can be made to work on an ACR, but an AR is not considered a quick change barrel so why would the ACR

In a way the AR is even quicker cause changing uppers is very fast. I have multiple uppers in different calibers. Two pins and its done.

I was contemplating the various QD bbl "solutions" people have come up with for the Ar and realized all of them are unnecessary because it is simply easier to have multiple uppers. The extra cost of a QD system would pay for a couple of upper receivers.
 
Ok, So I finally took a picture of mine as I have it set up for now.
Unfortunately I haven't had a day off since I got it to go shooting but it's coming soon :D
12.5 inch barrel, Magpul MOE grip, Elcan Specter DR, Geissele super ACR trigger, also have the fixed stock.

I also have at least that many Gi style aluminum and Stainless body mags :D

My NR ACR done by Ian... 1/7 twist with 5.56 chamber.

How do you like the Trijicon on there? Not too much for a 223?
As soon as the NR barrel shows up I'll snap some more pics of mine.

How do we get a Mod to open a sticky for the ACR? All the other rifles have one.
Hopefully we can keep it strictly to pictures and useful information. Ya right, who am I kidding? This is CGN, no thread can make it without the garbage posts. ;)

If someone doesn't chime in with the gas port dimensions for an 18.5 soon I'll slip the gas block off the one coming to me before I install it and measure it.
I'm sure someone must know though.

Stop me if I'm out of line, but is that barrel just a cut-down 16" barrel? I just say so because it looks like there is still part of the M203 cut-out profile.

That's the way I bought it. Was told it was done by bits and pieces. Not sure what they did. I can remove the handguard and post another pic if you want.

Just wanting to make sure you know what you bough, because if it's a cut down barrel, all you have now is a prohibited rifle.

Not sure yet actually... just mounted it the other day and haven't shot it yet. It's plenty accurate so was thinking about trying it on some gophers this spring. Needed the NF 2.5-10x24 that was on it before for my incoming SG542. :)

The handguard... is the 'rifle' length version. Sadly, I could only find ONE source for it, and it's not my first choice for suppliers. Let's just say, there is no heat shield. ;)

Looks good on there, be sure to let me know if you need any help with those gophers ;)

The 2.5-10 NF is the scope I want for mine but I'd have to sell another rifle to pay for it :(
