ACR vs high quality AR

That wasn't my experience with them and they may become prohibited at any time. Then your out $3000+ with nothing to show for it. Hopefully they don't rule that way but it's still up in the air right now and not worth the risk till after they announce their decision. They don't have to compensate owners if they take them away and if you keep it and get caught you get charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

they had to compensate t97 owners when they took them and with that precedent They would never get away with taking the swiss arms away without compensation. I learned a word for that in college; THEFT.

Wishful thinking. They have compensated for some firearms they changed their minds about but not others. It's a crap-shoot at best.

Alright guys,
So I've been thinking about either an ACR or a high quality AR purchase for about over a year now.

I have about 3000$ for my birthday in April (yes I'm treating myself) and I'm thinking of either a AR 15 (Noveske or a Knights), or a Bushmaster ACR. I already have a spare xps-2 with a g22 with some troy flips that i'll put as optics on either choice of firearm.

Whats of utmost important to me is, in order of importance: reliability, durability, and consistent accuracy.

So i'm looking for your opinions, shoot away.

Well let's say for the purpose of this analysis that the ACR stays in its restricted form.
NR ACR is coming this spring according to bushmaster so that would be my pick.

I also would want to use it for hunting so the ability to convert it to 450 bushmaster makes it even more appealing

there have been many taken without compensation in the past so I would not say that compensation is a guarantee.

HAHAHAHAAH ooooohhhh HHAHAHAAHAHA. haha. ha. uh...

I'll believe that when I see it... why would they bother selling longer barreled ACR's, when the US market doesn't need them? They might say 'they're coming!', but they've been saying that literally for YEARS.

that is an email directly from bushmaster to my local gun store, they have already been ordered from what I understand and are slated to arrive this spring here.

If they are coming, that's sweet - but again seeing is believing. I'm very happy with my NR ACR and probably paid less than what they'll come in for already NR, so I'm not complaining.

U can buy the restricted ones currently new from irunguns for 2300 US with no fees, the long barreled version is going to be marketed as a "sniper" and sold in the US as well.

I would have bought a restricted one and converted to NR but I have no use for the restricted 223 barrel, I would much rather be able to switch from 223 to 450 and back again without changing the status of the gun.

I am just as sceptical as you, even in that email it says it is possible it will be delayed if panic buying/sales increase in the US again as they are obligated to meet their US contracts first

= $2507 CDN with current exchange rate.

We have one in stock (enhanced) for $2700 ready to go ;)

Can be found here on the website.
I am not interested in buying unless a NR version comes out (as posted above I would need two barrels made rather than just one if it was NR to start with), I also do not like the railed front end of the enhanced, I found the non enhanced more balanced.

For the AR also consider the ADCOR bear with ambi lower. I'm very impressed with this design. It's still under the radar. With a full ambi lower it should almost be classified as a different firearm than the AR. Very cool hybrid DI/piston design. Quality is top notch. My two have zero carrier tilt. Hits square on the buffer.

LMT mrp, KAC, Noveske, HK are all top notch AR rifles. There are lots of high end AR rifles.

I like the ACR but feel it's still essentially in Beta stage. It still has a few things to work out. I suspect in a few years it will be a much better option.
Glad I could help :p

I have both, a kac11" and a nr acr, acr is heavy both shoot well @ 200m. The acr is smoother i find. I goto poco youre welcome to try them next time im up there

KAC or Noveske would be my bet, HK in 14.5 through Tactical Imports is very tempting, I have an HK in 16.5 I could sell you...lol..

depends what you want.

Barrel length?
Weight
Tac Driver?
Lighter weight Rifle?
3 gun
precision AR type?

I want something
1: that never fails,
2: that doesn't have any cheap Chinese parts,
3: that uses push pins to disassemble, not screws,
4:that doesn't require a tight anal retentive cleaning regimen,
5: that has much better accuracy than my tavor,
6: that has a good trigger out of the box,
7: that I can put sights and optics on,
8: that takes ar magazines,
9: that can shoot bulk AE ammo very well,
10: that I can put a sling on without boy scout knowledge of knots, and finally
11: that I can compete in 3 gun competitions relatively well with me being the biggest problem not my rifle..
