ACR vs high quality AR

I want something that never fails, that doesn't require a tight anal retentive cleaning regimen, that has much better accuracy than my tavor, that has a good trigger, that I can put sights and optics on, that takes ar magazines, that can shoot bulk AE ammo very well, that I can put a sling on without boy scout knowledge of knots, and finally that I can compete in 3 gun competitions relatively well with me being the biggest problem not my rifle..

LMT all the way

I want something
1: that never fails,
2: that doesn't have any cheap Chinese parts,
3: that uses push pins to disassemble, not screws,
4:that doesn't require a tight anal retentive cleaning regimen,
5: that has much better accuracy than my tavor,
6: that has a good trigger out of the box,
7: that I can put sights and optics on,
8: that takes ar magazines,
9: that can shoot bulk AE ammo very well,
10: that I can put a sling on without boy scout knowledge of knots, and finally

Then you want a PWS.
View attachment 8012
This is my Mk112, has a 12 inch barrel, long stroke piston operated, has rails and sling attachments all over, easy to strip, very accurate, decent trigger.
I have close to 4000 rounds through it and there is virtually no visible wear on the internals and it has yet to have a failure that wasn't caused by the operator.
There are a couple used PWS rifles on the EE right now or if you want new call Questar.

Sounds like you want an ACR. :) It does all those things well... and the ability to get a NR one is a HUUUGE bonus over the AR platform for most guys who like to shoot outside a range.

If I had 3000 for a budget I'd have lots of fun deciding......On which ar to get. I wouldnt consider an acr unless trying to go non restricted.

I'm not sure what I would pick but one manufacturer who hasn't been mentioned yet that would be on my list is Larue.

Actually going non restricted is not a top priority, i already have 2 non restricted .223 and frankly I've never even shot them outside of a range, so non restricted or restricted does not matter, i just want a good shooter that covers my 11 points.

ive only used 2 HK's and both were jam o matics.:stirthepot2:
the HK's are nice, if ou are looking for a premium rifle you cant go wrong.
personally, no use for one of that standards.

for me, the AR is great but its restricted to range use so a good black rifle non r holds more usable value...and geterally cost more anyway.

Good luck finding a firearm with the first requirement you have.

Easy, Don't buy Cheap rifles, use quality mags and ammo, and maintain it.
Nothing is perfect but most high end rifles will probably only have one failure per thousand rounds (or less) and it will probably be the fault of the operator or the magazine.

Other than some out of spec reloads I have not had a failure with my acr in the few thousand rounds I sent down range with it last year. Mostly sshootnorc 223.

I have put 3500 rounds of norinco through my ACR, and the only failures I have had were about 6 rounds that had that problem where a piece of primer would separate from the case after firing and fall into the trigger assembly. Besides that (which was not the guns fault) I have had zero failures, zero double feeds, zero jams, zero broken/worn parts. On the inside, the gun looks brand new. Pretty impressive at 3500 rounds.
