adams lake barrels

had plenty of work done and have NEVER had to put anything down. I guess that is what one gets when they gather ALL the parts themselves and just needs it bedded and chambered.......

True, but the majority of people let the gunbuilder supply most of the components.

This discussion is about ordering parts not building rifles. Apples to oranges comparison.

Not when you consider that in most cases, the customer has the gunbuilder order in most of the components to build a rifle.

Don't forget that there are consumer protection offices in most, if not all provinces, that police this type of situation, consumer-to-business transactions.

I have a problem with Badger Arms Supply taking my money and not delivering, so I have filed with saskatchewan's equivalent.

Ian was a bit of a #### but I don't think he's a thief. I'm sure he's going through a nasty, hell of a time right now and trying his ass off. Any chance you can reach him at home? I'm sure theres guys on here that shoot with him..

The bottom line here is that all the sponsors on here are above reproach and most require 100% of the money up front, it's all the other dealers that are not sponsors and don't require money up front that are problems. Yup, the ones that actually stock stuff and don't require 100% up front, they're the bad guys.

Couldn't agree more.

Edited...LMAO. Ok, I guess I missed the sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek comments in the early morning.

Ouch, harsh but so true.

adams lake

First off I do not have a dog in this fight and have never met Ian but I did order a barrel from him once and guess what my barrel arrived before I paid for it. On another note my buddys two barrels required 11 months to get after he paid. thanks

adams lake

just got off the phone with a lady from the detachment

send FULL PARTICULARS FROM THE BEGINNING along with copies of cancelled cheques and dates of calls, e-mails and attempts to contact,

they said they will investigate

so here is the address

CHASE RCMP DETACHMENT RE: IAN HAIMES AND ADAMS LAKE RIFLE BARRELS note there may be other files open

fax it to 2 5 0 - 6 7 9 - 3 8 2 1

that way they will co-ordinate all the files (as each concern or complaint has a separate file number) and they will follow up I have been assured. They have 8 officers at that detachment and it will be done,

good luck and get on it, now is the time to pursue the issue, don't wait until spring,

and his e-mail havs changed, and do not phone him but send the info to the police so he cannot say you were trying to blackmail him.

have fun and let us see how soon you get your money back

Jefferson

Thanks, I'll send my invoice and copy of my payment to RCMP as you mentionned Jefferson.
I've posted my problem last september and a moderator give me a blast saying that I was not allowed to mention that a sponsor might be a cheater.
Anyway so far I've lost my money...

Sucks that it has to come to this. Ian is no thief (not blatantly anyhow) and I was REALLY hoping he would have chimed in with some info on the matter.

I have been good friends with Ian over the past 4-5 years and did not see this coming, though I have not been in contact with him to any degree over the past 6 or 7 months.

Good luck to those involved, I hope you get your $ back and let's keep to the facts rather than conjecture as has been in the past.

Krieger

Since the OP on the very first thread I have had my reservations on this whole deal. Ian appeared to be a reputable dealer, with lots of followers over the years. But after a post regarding an email to Krieger, I decided to go with my gut and send an inquiry to Krieger myself. I got a reply back overnight which I have but will not release except to the RCMP. I will paraphrase however, and am awaiting permission from Krieger to post the email they sent me word for word.

Krieger says they regret the lack of communication between Ian and his customers, they also have not heard from him in several months by multiple emails to multiple addresses and 2 phone numbers. They have shipped any barrels which were paid for to him, and have either returned unpaid for barrels that Ian had ordered to stock, or cancelled them outright.

I tend to stay very reserved on issues like this as forums tend to get things blown out of proportion in a hurry, hence I have held my tongue for sometime. But after this email from Kreiger, I will be submitting my complaint and paperwork to Chase RCMP (thanks Jefferson, be in touch directly). I will not slam Ian in any way at this point, I am simply looking to have the issue resolved and will await word from the RCMP. A thousand bucks down the drain is something that could potentially get under ones skin in a hurry however....

There's stories that he has some sort of ailement, stories that he's crusing Vancouver without a care in the world, but as second and thirdhand information they are just that, stories at this point to me. The only thing I am acting on is the lack of communication with him directly, and the email I have now received from Krieger.

Also, as a side note, has anyone else noticed that Obtunded (Ian) has not logged onto CGN since August? At lease the last time I checked.

Coincidence? Happenstnce? I think not. I hate to say it, but I think this situation is far from being blown out of proportion. As time goes on, we hear of more and more people comming forward with the same issues.

Even if you gave Ian the benefit of the doubt, tt this point, it's not a lack of communication anymore. That much is obvious and his apologists are now silent.

I have been given permission from Krieger directly to post their word for word email and any subsequent information I get from them. I will be keeping copies of all correspondence.

Ian Hames/Adams Lake rifle Barrels has been a customer of ours for a long time. We had orders in process and finished in the shipping department waiting on payment for several months so we could ship them. We also have had no contact from him in several months even though trying several methods via*phone (2 numbers), Fax, and e-mail (2 e-mail addresses). We had no choice but to cancel his orders and put the barrels into inventory. We have shipped everything that Ian has paid us for, and he gave no deposits on the orders we canceled.

You are not the first to inquire about this, and I don't believe you will be the last. Unfortunately the business practices of Ian and Adams Lake Rifle Barrels has caused us to cease to do business with him. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused his customers.
