Adams Lake riffle barrels: take care

this.....

"hi my names so and so, me and my friends ordered barrel from company X, it seems to have been a long time and we arnt hearing back from him, does any one know whats goin on?"

would have been a much better post. coming on here with "this company suck" when its about Some one who has done alot of good for lots of people here and the shooting comunity wont win you any friends

thats what was my first tough, but if the intention is to protect other people, how do i do that without naming the company ?

I heard a rumour on the internets that moregunssupply is going to start carrying krieger barrels.:) They'll come with their own individual custom plastic shipping bag.

That aside one of the hardest things in business is having customers standing in line happy to throw money at you for a product and not being able to supply while the bills keeps accumulating and your stress level goes up because no matter how hard you try and do you best your relying on events you have no control over.

there is no problem to name the company that your talking about, but coming across as slagging the company when some onw here might be involved and be able to tell you why your barrel isnt arived, or your not hearing back from them will get you a much better response

got your point. What i'm figuring out with what your telling is that i'm too limited with my language (english) to explain properly the whole situation and discussion that happened between the client and the company. If i would be better in english, i think the people would understand better what i'm trying to say. Seems like everyone is sticcking to the delay for delivery as this is NOT the point ! My friend have now bought 16 custom barrels (love the 6x284) ! I think he is aware of delays !

Seriously, dont you have some better comments ? Seems like it's very common on that forum. Nothing objective, only bulls**t about a newby that is mother language is not english !

I just cant believe that i've tried to protect you guys ! If i only knew before !

A tad bit touchy? It was a joke and I apologize for hurting your feelings. Here's how I can contribute. Posted wait times are more of an estimate of how long it will take at the time of order. If more orders go through, the longer the wait time. I am sure Ian did his part and is now waiting on the manufacturer. I would just wait it out, he won't screw your friends out on money.

Hi every one,

never had a call back ! After tons of mails and voice mail, still no answer !

regards

I think the OP (friends?) was/(were) most concerned with the lack of contact. A timely response with an explanation would go a long way to alleviate customers concerns.

Actually I think that is the biggest complaint that people usually have. I think that a lot of people get into the gun-related business for two reasons: either (a) they are passionate about their hobby and think that it would be a good way to make a little money as well or (b) they see a niche that can be filled and jump into a business with a view to filling that niche.

In both the above cases the person starting the business hasn't really thought through the 'business' side of things and that usually bites them in the a$$ at some stage. Customers are also more demanding (sophisticated ?) than they used to be and expect online ordering, email communication and the assistance that one normally associates with a larger concern - the small outfit is often unable to do this and may not have even thought of it.

The other thing that I see happening with smaller businesses is that they grow too fast too quick and that leaves them scrambling to catch up with orders, back orders and satisfying new customers who don't know them - think of a small gunstore in a rural community whom everyone knew; the gunstore goes 'online' and all of a sudden it is processing orders from the big cities placed by people who have expectations and who have no idea that really it is just 'Jack" and 'Bill' behind the counter not a team of 'sales associates' ready to take their call and process the order etc.

It must be very tough to start any business - especially the gun-related ones and I think we should all be thankful their are people willing to try. Cutting them some slack should be part of our way of saying 'thanks'.

I agree. Not only that but these guys have to deal with the know-it-all Internet "snipers" with absolutely no real world experience. If you want super fast service within the firearms industry, move to the states.

EXACTLY

i'm not talking about a weekly contact after delivery date, only a monthly contact. Let say the delivery time is 6 months. No call until that date. After that, if still required,a follow up monthly. This in my oppinion, is bassic. this is not what is happening in my present case. No answer at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this asking too much ?????

Don't judge someone till you walk a mile in his shoes. You have no idea what is happening on his end with regards to work and personal life. Quit being such a whiner and move on...this thread is useless!

We should be thankful there are people willing to do it, and I don't think they are getting rich doing it.

I'm not too sure about that last statement... the last time I saw Ian, he was cruising around town in a 'car' that had to be worth $250k, including accessories!

;)

I have been waiting for a Barrel from Ian for while, apparently he had it, may have shipped it to M14Doctor by mistake ( an honest mistake ), received it back from M14 doctor, and told me as of a few weeks back that it is on its way. If anyone knows why Ian may not be responding to peoples emails, please feel free to PM me, if not I will continue to wait. From talking with Ian he seems like a good guy and just may be subject to extenuating circumstances that are out of his control.

The biggest problem with internet only businesses is NO STOCK. This translates to no commitment. Nothing invested. Use customers money that has been deposited. Most of the ventures we see here are underfunded. I was at Bruno shooters supply in AZ on Wed. They had over 100 Kreiger barrels in stock, along with 200+ other makes. While this may be the other extreme it shows a commitment to customers.

Instead of requiring 100% upfront maybe ask for a refundable deposit. If you can't fulfill your end of the deal, refund the deposit.

Also the non communication is unacceptable at any time. No matter what, one has 2 min. in a day to respond to a customer from whom you have taken $450 in unsecured funds. If you have 20 such cust. it would take 40 min. a month to explain why you have $9000 with nothing to show.

There are some sponsors here that have stock(bullets, primers etc), these are the ones I support. Several have many thousands of $ in guns, ammo, etc. in stock. These show commitment to shooters. Think about this when you break out the Visa. Mark
