I was fairly disappointed when I patterned 00 buck from my 18" cylinder bore 870 at the range. Not bad at 40 yards with 6 of 8 pellets hitting a 4' x 2' paper sheet, but down to 2 or 3 hits at 50 yards.
So my question is, has anyone had a choke put on their cylinder bore barrel? How much did it cost? Was it worth the cost for the improvement in shot pattern?

I recently had an over/under Baikal 12 gauge cut down from 28 to 22 inches, the pattern actually improved when shooting 0 buck.(same as ssg)
