Advanced Carbine Course, Victoria Fish and Game, March 2-3

I'm partial to the rain. Misery loves company. Mud-based ia's and stoppages

It was excellent couple days, and a very humbling experience. To be around so many other shooters with such a varying skill set, and knowledge base was a great reminder as to just how amateur I am in this sport. I would take the same course again any time, and look forward to future courses in the Victoria Area. Thanks to Earl for putting it on, everyone who helped make it happen, and all those who took part. Already can't wait to do it all over again!

To those who wondered where "fukc it, We'll do it live" came from, I found this, skip to about 1:00

Many thanks to Earl for making this course a reality and to all those who helped with the gear and props for the course. It was awesome to see many familiar faces on this course again as well, a great group of guys!

If anyone is wondering what differentiates a regular 2 day carbine course from an advanced course, think malfunction drills, shooting from all sorts of uncomfortable positions and LOTS of movement. This course demands a good basis in the fundamentals and reliable kit. The knowledge transfer was very high, and it was a fun and technically demanding course. Would take again in a heartbeat!

Thanks to the boys in vic for hosting. Great range.

I certainly learned a lot, and am especially humbled by all the great shots. Its very much a fundamentals as much as a mindset thing. And even though there were some who carry guns into stupid places, fundamentals and cardinal safety rules is king. Tritium brought that home when a very pertinent teaching point presented itself in an ND by urs truly.

I definately have lots to learn still, and more importantly lots to practice. Courses are great but if the skills presented are not practiced...

Thanks to all who made it happen, and great to finally meet some cgn personalities.

Great vid work, Steve!

Thanks!!! I wish I had more video of some of the group drills. I was participating in those though. Andrew took a lot of video while everyone else was shooting, I would like to get my hands on some of that raw footage and edit it up into something watchable. If anyone has any video they want to send my way PM me and we can arrange a time and place for me to come meet you to transfer some files to my laptop.

Just wondering if any of the alumni of the PGLT courses who live in the area want to start a group and get together once in a while and practice the stuff we learned during the courses?
