AE .223 vs tactical AE .223 is there difference?

The tactical is loaded to a slightly higher pressure than the regular .223. And from what I understand the dimensions of the neck is a little different.

Tactical = Black...

I'm thinking the powder inside is more "Black" then the standard powder... the extra "Blacking" makes it more tactical :)

Little known fact here - The black coatings that make Tactical goods "Black" are actually scrapings from Real Mall Ninjas!

the AE tactical black box has no primer crimp :) way better for reloading. the AE red box has the primer crimp , you have to ream out the pocket to reload it :( also the tactical ammo has less polished brass.. no biggie .. The tactical is cheaper just as accurate and way easier to reload..

I have boxes of both. I haven't chrono'd them but they are not exactly the same. Just a visual inspection you can see the primer crimp, the red box has very sharp points while 193 is a little more rounded like a ball point pen, red box is polished better and shows no signs of anealing, 193 shows discoloration. There may be differences in powder, dimensions and case thickness. I haven't measured or even cared.
