AIA mags in M14?

Money talks people. We should start a poll : who will buy them? I'm in for a few or more if they can get the 20 rnd ones

You and me both. I'm salivating at the prospect. M14's are already all the fun of a 10/22 but with twenty-five times the noise and recoil. Add normal capacity magazines to that and... and... I'm speechless at the prospect.

My question is has anyone been successfull in court claiming that they have a mag with more than 5 round capacity that they now will work in a M14 and have a M14 registered to them. Likely not, so when you end up in court let us know how it turned out for you.

The RCMP ruled in favour of the LAR-15 10 round pistol mags, and how the law was written. That sets a pretty favourable precedent.

Apparently there are some 20 round mags in Canada. A manufacturer sent me this picture

I doubt we would get an official letter of approval from the RCMP like we did with the LAR-15 mags. However, the law is clearly on our side here - in the unlikely event that someone was charged, under the current rules I just don't see any way they could make it stick.

The way I see it, this really isn't that big of a deal, anyhow. I guarantee you that the average person without a P.A.L. has no idea what legal mag capacity limits are. They see us at the range with a 30 round banana mag for a VZ-58, they assume it's full capacity - not knowing it's actually pinned to 5. I'd wager most cops don't give a rats ass about mag limits either - any officer with a lick of sense knows that pinned mags don't make any kind of meaningful difference in the streets or anywhere else. The only people who would know/care about something like this at all would be some of the more knowledgeable anti-gun activists, and presumably they've got bigger fish to fry.

So whereas the general public probably assumes we already have normal capacity mags, and whereas only a slim minority of people who know better actually give a damn, I'd say this is something we might as well take advantage of. As always, keep your ducks in row and use discretion. :)

I dunno. The urge to engage in a little ballistic masturbation would be intense at first... ".308 magdump! WOOHOO! *BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM...*".

Don't tell me you wouldn't be tempted.

I learned to shoot with a very angry Master Corporal yelling at all those who could not count to 5. I think I could handle it.

However, I know exactly what you mean and I would totally do it :D

I was trying to be a bit of a smart ass in my initial post.

Agreed, I hope it all works out.
