Is marstar ever gonna bring in more of those AIA 10 round mags? I've been checking for the last few months but never seem to see any on the site?

If you are planning on using them in an M-14, I would advise you against it.

The magazine needs alteration to work. That alteration would make it not longer designed for the AIA, which would make the possession possibly of a prohibited device.

Yeah, there was a fairly lengthy thread a while back about how they fit in an M14 magwell and cycled reliably. Nobody would admit they used one to fire live rounds though... Not 100% sure why, no laws were broken.

If they work, great. If Marstar can get them in, even better yet. After all we have 10 round AR "Pistol" mags. The point is this mag restriction bull#### is just that. So again, if they work bring it. I know I'll buy a bunch.

I've heard both opinions on the topic and i figure it's worth buying 1 mag to see if it works then decide from there. I'm also fully aware modifying a full cap mag to work would be unlawful. Therefore i'm left with trying the stock, no hole AIA magazine.

Ok, bad to modify the mag, but what about modifying a nork m-14 magwell to be the same as the IAI magwell? that should work ok and no laws broken either.

I'd buy a few of these if they're ever back on the market.

Someone (dealer) on here mentioned to keep an eye out for some mags in the near future. Can't remember who that was now...

I am not sure about that. I mean if you have to bend the feed lips, change the follower etc. etc. like really modifying it then I think you are correct. But I don't think there is a law the you can't "lighten" a magazine by cutting a few holes in it, and if one just happens to make it line up better, a happy coincident :dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:.

There a lot of mags out there that have had material removed to make them lighter no? Don't Chip McCormack mags do just that? Perhaps I am mistaken. Someone one here seems to like jumping on me whenever I say something so I was hesitant to make a comment.

It is perfectly legal to an AIA mag in a M14, as long as the mag is not altered in any way. Questar has a letter from the RCMP regarding this issue as it relates to LAR 10rd mags. If you are using 10rd mags in a centrefire rifle, I suggest you copy this letter and keep it with you. If the cops look at it and still charge, it will make an interesting case as the judge reams them a new hole.

As long as the magazine is not marked M14/M1A/M305S, and IS marked AIA <riflename> then no issues.

What can they do? arrest you for shooting a legal rifle in a legal area with a legal magazine? Maybe they'll arrest you for having a nice haircut too.

The magazine needs alteration to work.

False

what about modifying a nork m-14 magwell to be the same as the IAI magwell?

No need, the mags work fine as is.

As long as the magazine is not marked M14/M1A/M305S, and IS marked AIA <riflename> then no issues.

The AIA mags I have are marked only with a serial number in some kind of ink. There is no AIA stamp anywhere on the mag. But AIA mags are physically different as they don't have the hole for the spring guide.

20 rd AIA mags would be awesome.

the maximum capacity is 5 rounds for long guns, 10 rounds for handguns "commonly found in Canada", and 5 rounds for handguns "not commonly found in Canada." Magazines for rimfire cartridges, the 8-round clips used in the M1 Garand, and 10 round Lee Enfield rifle magazines are exempted by name from this prohibition.

Would be nice, but the enfield loophole is limited to 10 sadly.
