AIA's 7.62 x 39mm M10A2 Carbine - Pics

Hi all, I'll post some pics thru another member, but my PC crashed on Monday, and won't be up and running until Friday. Its just limping along now, slow as hell with hard drive issues, and I am taking it in today.

I'll take some fresh pics from various angles eetc, much better than any dealer would/could.

Until Friday,

Cheers,

Wes

Thank you Wes! :)

Hi Neal,

I've already spilled the beans on everything I know aside from who the retailer will be.

I was in contact with the retailer recently though and they said they haven;t yet decided when they will be offered for sale - despite the first shipment already being in-country and at their facility.

Hopefully not more than a couple weeks and then we'll have more answers.

Greetings, just at work at present. Two finishes, either blued or phosphated. The 5.56 x 45mm calibre version is either on hold, or will not be produced. Some feed issues, and yes with a 10rd M16 mag! Some EX models do exist in 5.56mm.

Seems AIA is keen on the 7.62mm NATO calibre version for now, so I am told anyways.

My bet for a Cdn distributor is still MARSTAR, watch for this news being made public any day now. You heard it here first.

Cold beers,

Wes

personally I'm on the fence over the handguard , overall I like it and in .308 I just might bite for the right price .
Australian products have hit the hot rod market in recent years with very high quality and incredible prices , I hope this follows suit .
As far as a 7.62x39 version , my SKS will do just fine thanks . I can't see it selling enough to be successfull in that calibre .

My crystal ball predicts that if both a .308 and a 7.62x39 hit the market at the same time and at the same price, and with a factory 10 round mag, the 7.62 will sell slightly faster.

I'll wager a Timmies on it.:)

You might be right , it would depend on price and if it got slagged for poor acuracy or performance .
either way , that would be one stale timmies by the time it gets to me , or vise-versa . lol

Greetings and G'Day from tropical Queensland!
1Feral1, just wondering if you might know anything about AIAs new 308 Garands. I have asked around up here and no one seems to know anything. Any idea what the price on them is?

Mate, don't know on that one, if if they are into them, it will be for the markets other than Australia, as SA rifles are limited to only a special class of shooter here, and I am not sure if any more can even be imported, and must be resourced thru qty's already in country.

I was out at ADI Lithgow (home of the homegrown versions of the SMLE, BREN, L1A1, L2A1, F88 family etc) in 2001, and observed ADI CNC manufactured M1 Garand recievers being made in front of my eyes! I was told they were destined for the USA market. Being a private company now, they have their fingers in many pies.

About pics, well here at a local INet cafe, my PC died, lost about 4000 pics, and I am in the processs of selecting another PC, so when that happens, I will take some fresh pics of the M10A2 I have, and ensure that Jeff1911 posts them for me.

Hate to keep ya's with baited breath.

Well, best get out to the beach fro my mid-day swim. Coral Sea temp today about 25C, outside temp around 29C. Not bad for autumn, eh.

Cheers,

Wes

You rat bastard! I rode my suzuki to work in the rain this morning, my armpits got wet  I hope you choke on that nice warm water!

Kidding, kidding. I've been wanting to visit australia for years now, hearing stuff like that just makes me wanna buy a plane ticket :(

As far as the rifle goes, I like it! Regardless of what the mag capacity is, I'm a fan of 7.62x39 and I'm a bit of a milsurp junkie, so you wouldn't have too much trouble selling one to me. I like the phosphate finish as well. One thing I didn't catch though, is the bore chromed? I can't remember if anyone asked already

Edit; nevermind, I re-read the first freakin' post and answered my own question :p

Many Thanks.
I do see a US importer mentioning them in print, but not on thier site. Again, thanks. :)

Well, finally getting my computer back on Wednesday, and I'll send Jeff some much awaited pics of this beast so he can post them.

I see Marstar is in the game just as I predicted :)

Cheers,

Wes
