AIAW versus PGW Coyote

I have 5 of the bad boys.

How old is your rifle. It may have the new mags.

Made in 2008. The AI mags that I have are a hair over 3" long and the PGW mags are a hair under 3". 2.838" is the max. cartridge length I can feed reliably from the Coyote PWG mags. It just so happens that my 175smk loads work well at 2.838" so that's a bonus.

The OPP uses the AI's as well.

Haven't shot a Coyote much, but have shot AI's alot. I would be happy with either of them. I personally like the thumbhole stock. As far as the accuracy comparison the shooter is the biggest factor, but even off the wobbly parker-hale bi-pod and with no rear bag groups into the 0.5" range aren't hard to get with the AIAW. Add a rear bag and 0.25" groups are repeatable shooting factory match ammo.

They all suck. My Savage 112xdfghhvh in a Bondomatic SNiperific Stock with Fitco 10x outshot this guy at the gravel pit with his PGW and AI once. 0.132" group average at 200yds. At night.

sorry i'll go away now. I may have been drinking when I wrote this.

PS. I much prefered the Coyote over the AI when I had them side by side.

As much as I prefer it for all the other added benefits I still don't think that they are the best bi-pod for shooting groups with. I am aware that you can tighten things up be leaning into the rifle. As soon as I go out to distance I usually switch to shooting off my pack. I find it more stable and tracking is easy enough at distance.

Just a personal prefrence I guess.

Well,

I've owned everything from an HS Precision to full nutz all out customs. LOVE the AIAW. My new one is winging its way from the UK, I can't wait.

As far as accurate,,, most shooters won't outshoot any of the guns listed on this thread, I wouldn't sweat that. Stating one is more accurate than the other is a moot point unless your one hell of an accomplished shooter (and shooting groups off a bench, not tactical competitions etc).

If you haven't tried each rifle, that would be a good starting point before dropping that kind of coin. Any of them are great rigs, just get the one that suits you the best.

Let's see some pics of your AI's and PGW's? :D

p.s. I had the pleasure of shooting "catworks" PGW .338 and it was amazing ... I also own a Remington .308 in AI 2.0 stock and love the thumbhole ... :D
