AK legality

Ergonomics on the Kalashnikovs are actually good. Some can be quite accurate. As far as automatic capability goes, if our civilian police can have it then so should other civilians. The rifles function well even when treated badly. They would be good for our Canadian Rangers.

I've seen that gun gripes episode where they went head to head AR vs AK.. At 440yds, 1x red dot, they were getting the same groups as an AR - good enough to take down a man-sized target, without bullets keyholing, which debunks the 200yd myth. They used match ammo but they tested it against comblock milsurp and didn't get a difference in groups. For me it would mostly be the historical significance (my dad and several uncles/cousins were issued those while in service), along with my appreciation of the effectiveness and reliability of the platform.

My folding stocked AKM (North Korean mfr.) could shoot 3 1/2" groups at 75Y with PMC softpoint, iron sights. I've never had an AR, or any other modern paramilitary rifle that would not do better. A CA Yugo lmg shot about the same, with Yugo ball, off its bipod.

I've never shot a Valmet; would expect better accuracy from one of them.

The AK selector/safety is awkward and typically quite noisy, and has gotten more than a few people killed, and while I find the AK mag release excellent, rock-and-lock reloading sucks, especially with deeply curved mags.

However the Vz58 is hardly better in those aspects, nor are a lot of other military rifles that didn't get picked apart by NATO propaganda.

if im expecting contact the safety is already off everything else is pratice practice practice they use a reverse engineering to learn over in the eastern bloc als there is no one way of doing everything in aspect of the eastern bloc guns its what the situation calls for you also should be able to do the same things weak side that you can strong side

I know the East Bloc folks don't utilize the safety nearly as much as West imperialist dogs, but that still leaves you with an awkward selector. Originally the AK was supposed to have a separate safety and selector but they combined them because it made for easier manufacture.

SORRY-There is probably NO firearm as universally recognizable/persecuted as the AK series- optics of ANY party legalizing such ??-IMHO-"Slim to none-and Slim just left town"-

All semi's and likely most manual repeaters would as well....

If the Lieberals or No Down Payment (NDP) achieve power-get ready for bolt action/break action only-pumps/levers have already been banned in several jurisdictions as WMD's-Australia/Great Britain-pumps (rifle/shotgun)-EU-to my admittedly internet search function knowledge-toast-"So as to harmonize our laws with other forward thinking jurisdictions...."-I can envisage the language already-VOTE CONSERVATIVE !!
