What are the chances of semi-auto AK variants ever becoming reclassified in Canada?

Pretty much zero.... think of it this way, all the headlines on CTV-CBC ect. would be "Harper/Conservative Government Legalizes assault rifles".

Great optics, don't you think?.

It's one pointless, ignorant law after another.

The more I learn about firearms laws in Canada the more disappointed I am in my country.

When I get frustrated about the no hangun hunting rule, a point to remember(that I always find comforting),
is that LEO's and CO's are seldom found more than a stones through away from a motorized vehicle!;)

Unless you mean reclassified as in to "prohibited with no grandfathering," then I would say that it the P(AK reclassified | anything good) <<<<<<<<< 1.

Sorry, but there would need to be a lot of changes to public perception and the law before this stands any chance. A full repeal of the F.A. would be a good start. I guess it might be possible that if the majority of current firearms law was repealed and replaced, the new laws might (un)intentionally change the classification of the AK, but I'm not holding my breath.

We already have semi-automatic rifles in 7.62x39... even ones that look almost like AKs. It makes no sense that AK variants are not classified as restricted.

I agree with you about repealing the FA being the best chance at getting them reclassified.

the way everything is it would take a revaluation to change the laws id not even think about letting the UN dictators bring their laws in

im sorry but the last gen of gun owners let most of this happen by giving not one but quite a few inchs that got turned into a few miles now we need to beat these new dictator party(aka NDP) and liberals back we need to show we are stronger then ever
