Is the draw for Albertan's only or can out of provincer's apply?
I hate to see how things would turn out if one felt threatened for his life by the locals. If I were in the middle of nowhere and someone tried to burn my veicle or similar, I would feel threatened.
Is all thisjust rumor? anyone have any experiences ?
The rumor mill info I have for this buffalo hunt is that there will be 300 tags.
200 tags for the local natives, 100 tags available by draw. The native hunt will occur for 1 or 2 months prior to the start of the Jan 1 to Feb 28 draw hunt. By the time the draw hunt starts you will not find buffalos standing in the ditch. You better have snow mobiles and toboggans to find them and haul them out.
Unbelievably many people who will get drawn will never make an appearance. They are totally unprepared and having no knowledge of the area, animals and the weather conditions, will just say to heck with it when the season rolls around and it is 40 below and snowing. Too bad because some of us really want to do the hunt.

Elk I also put in for it, why not, eh?
I don't have a snowmobile and I've never been up there but what the hell, cross that bridge when I get to it, I say.![]()
You're right.
I am only a couple of hours from this hunt and people aren't being practical. Most hunters aren't prepared for this kind of hunt, but the idea of saying I have a buffalo tag, seems to override that.
