Ive blown the heart out of a deer with a rifle and it managed 100 yards before collapsing. There is no way to predict how far an animal will go.
I still think a cold steel samburu spear would be more effective for throwing

Agree more effective for throwing and more likely to stay BUT that spear he used more likely to kill more quickly IMHO.

I have hunted with that tipe of spear as well as Samburu spear
Sum times I pack both the Samburu for throwing and the other for back up
I would think so when I'm spear hunting I try to position the blade to slice between the ribs

glory whores like this guy who make these videos and post on youtube for peer validation and internet fame are the reason hunting will be banned in our lifetime. seriously, we are just giving the anti-hunters the material they need to further their agenda. think of the optics. guy launches a spear at a bear, does a happy dance and then the bear dies off camera leaving it to the imagination how long it took to die.... i don't care if hunters want to use a spear or make a video, just keep it off youtube, so we can continue to enjoy hunting quietly, without having to justify our lifestyle and without being under constant scrutiny from the non-hunting crowd.

The best friends the anti hunting/anti gun crowd have are people like this person and those that condone their actions. They can do more damage to the pro hunting cause with just one stupid act like this than the good hunters who advocate ethical hunting practices can make up for with years of hard work. Shame on him and all those who support him.

I agree for the most part. I've posted a sedate deer kill or three on here... no where else. I shut down Social Media a while back...just made me angry.
The part I find most amusing about stuff like this, no problem good on them, is the antis will say this is barbaric and unnecessary suffering using a spear. Then with they next brief say that rifles are unfair and unsporting.
