but it does look like they are going to go ahead with the draws for this season


Now they only need to lift the restriction on ATVs

That's what I was wondering about....:confused:

I don't want to get drawn for a tag if they are going to decided in August to do something and cancel things for the fall.
In my opinion hunting isn't going to be a big issue in regards to spreading the virus as long as big, crowded hunting camps don't happen which isn't my thing anyhow.
 
Not to keen on applying if covid situation cancels the hunt somehow but the thought of hunting with no annoying ATV traffic is nice though I hope they lift this ban because I was planning a 4x4 camping trip this summer.

If I still have concerns about draws come June I think I will 999 most of them and just hunt General white-tail and supplemental white-tail. This is a meat hunt season for me if there ever was one....:rolleyes:

That's apparently related to the fire ban. Strange, since most of us still have an abundance of snow. :confused: When it warms up, i'm going bear hunting. :)

Yep 999 might be the safe play, we'll have to see.

It was supposed to be a moose year for me again in a favourite WMU, we'll see if it's worth risking spent priority.
 
An AB hunting post just what I was looking for, who's getting ready for spring bear????!

If you're looking for tags because Canadian tire and cabelas are closed the little town of Devon has a husky that carries tags. I grabbed a bunch for my buddy and I.

That was my biggest misgiving about hunting in Alberta the years we lived there. Everyone seems to have some form of quad / side by / sled, way different wilderness culture. Wilmore was a breath of fresh air though, feet and hooves only allowed.

Yup that place always has tags. Better than going to cabelas.
 
Nothing more exhilarating than spending hours in the dark climbing a mountain to hunt sheep and running into a 300+lb slug on a quad with no plate driving all over with with his buddies .............gun across the hand bars at first light at the top.

I think a lot of Alberta hunters have experienced that there are both reasonable and unreasonable ways ATVs are used.

I guess we know what side of the equation people are on if they jump on anyone for fair and practical observations :)
 
If I draw a tag and the season ends up being cancelled.....I will likely exercise a casual indifference to that type of nonsense.

Regarding ATV's in Alberta, I appreciate the no ATV before noon rule and I enjoy places like the Willmore however I don't really get the fuss with whining about ATV's ruining hunts. I figure most times it's folks looking for a reason for why they didn't get what they were after.

Most times the mobs of ATV's are out (in my experience) is during the general elk season. I've seemed to have done well hunting in places where ATV's can't go, others mileage may vary.

drives me nuts personally.
