Also op may have been able to file a claim with his homeowners ins. if guns/sporting goods are on his policy. Ours are. Then his insurer could have dealt with CP. This is the route I would have taken. Wouldn't affect your rates as 3rd. party liability comes in.
I'd bet a paycheck that Rick wishes he would have just sent the guy a new gun and been done with it, but between him and CP they must return op's property in similar condition to what went in the box @ CP.

Agreed Rick has to submit the claim.. However if rick wasn't a smith it's not his responsibility to fix it or to find a smith to fix it.. So just becuase he is a smith doesn't make him responsible to fix it.. He could have easily submitted the claim and told CP and the OP to sort it out after the claim was initiated..

Not sure how you figure rick should be out of pocket on a new gun for something that was not his fault.. CP is forking over $400 that's it..

In truth I truly wish CP had exercised their option to have it repaired elsewhere.

Or better yet, that the OP had had his original gunsmith (whom ever installed the brake) do the work locally and that I had never had any involvement in any shape of form with guys gun.

Are you making AR lowers now? Do they say "Made in Canada" on them? How much will they be. I think I'd like my next AR build to be with some of your stuff after reading this mess!

Dear Scott

Yes we are making AR15 billet lowers and billet uppers And the lowers DO proudly state that they are made in Canada.

Hey Rick . Can i send a sporterized Enfield with only 30 rounds through it and if the sights get damaged in transit you'll give me a new Nightforce ? robertf , hard to smear a guy that's well respected from coast to coast but of course pages and pages of guys are wrong and you're the only one who is right . After what you've done i wouldn't have blamed Rick one bit had he sent you CP's 400 bucks , your barreled action and a file but he bent over backwards and fixed a problem that he did not cause nor is responsible for . You should be thanking him instead of slagging him and you didn't hurt his rep one bit which can't be said for you .
 
I have also read this entire thread, and to me it just confirms some people attitudes.I know these people well and deal with them everyday, they are the ones where every event in their lives are another person's fault or responsibility, nobody can take responsibility for their own actions or figure what the cause and result is.These type will run a read light get hit by another vehicle and blame the other person for hitting them.I am not one to send out personal attacks but things were done during this dispute in very poor form.

ATR, I have never dealt with them myself.Looks like they went way beyond what needed to be done and wound up getting the short end of the stick anyways.

Personally I don't think I could have shown such patience in dealing with such a situation.
 
It's pretty funny how RobertF hasn't posted a thing since the pictures of the repaired part were posted.Every couple of posts he'd pipe in with some I'm not happy post but now, not a peep.
it sure is nice and quiet now.
 
Mad at ATRS.

I am mad at Rick also. I WANT FREE THINGS TOO.


I went to his store and he had the berger bullets that I wanted and the brass I wanted was also in "STOCK"!!!!

My rifle was also ready for pickup, and I got to pet a dog.
I am furious that the dog was nice.

The people that were in his store also seemed furious that they were able to buy things,get advice, customer service and support.:mad:

I am torn up inside with rage that the Cerakot job on the INFIDEL was so nice.



I am furious.


I wonder how much longer we can keep this thread going?
 
The other day i backed into a tree i think ill go after the guy that owns it for the damages to my truck lol, or maby i go after the contracter that planted the tree, or the guy that sold that tree to the contractor.........lol

That's a a pretty nasty tree sneaking up on you from behind and all......you should definitely sue....... nature has to pay up for it's creations. Anyway IBTL !

Well, I can sort of understand robertf being upset about his rifle being damaged 3 times by Canada Post, but all this thread has done is made me more confident in dealing with Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply. They seem like they'll go the extra mile to take care of things.

My two cents, and maybe off topic. However, after all this discussion we should think about appropriate packaging. Think about the images of gorrilas in a zoo tossing tires around. Not all, but some people in the shipping business don't care about your freight.

My suggestion is not to ship a long item that could be stood on one end with little more than cardboard as a cushion. A valuable rifle should be shipped within a wooden crate. How long does it take to make a 2 x 4 frame with plywood top and bottom. Make the lid removeable with screws. The gunsmith will know how to remove them. Also add ropes at each end so that handlers are less likely to drop it. Considering all the time and effort spent in this exchange, the OP should consider building himself a returnable shipping box. Any damage to a more substantial container would only strengthen future claims if any.

On the contrary! The more I read, the more certain I am that at some not too distant point in the future ATRS WILL be building me a rifle! Kudos Rick on your professional manner in dealing with the above matter!
 
RobertF, If I were you I would man up and go see Rick in Calgary in person and Apoligize, then shake his hand and thank him. You sir have a lot to learn about life. From the pictures, it looks like it is back to new condition. I hope you learn to say "OOPS I SCREWED UP". Rick ,you just showed how much class you have,Again!
