All-New: Type 81M

Got my fixed today. Feels solid, shoots well in the 50 rounds I burned through it after work. Bit of scratching on the receiver / stock, but nothing worth worrying about.

A good companion to my tricked out 2017 folder.
 
Fixed stock finally made its way to me from Winnipeg purgatory!

Happy to report that it's perfectly straight, no issues, wood has some surprisingly beautiful grain underneath the no2 pencil finish lol.

My guess is that those rifle were not designed to use optics at all. Personally I think this is where TI failed to disclose the shortcomings of that platform.

They are cheaply manufactured rifles with the aim to function, no more, no less.

This is exactly right, they are battle rifles, not optics mounted sniper rifles, no optics needed
 
Just received my replacement fixed for the one without the mag release, happy to announce it has the mag release, only problem I see is the front sight is canted to the left, anyone else have this issue?

Is it actually canted or is it just the front sight portion pushed to the left? The 81M has the same type of front sight base as the LMG, meaning the whole tower moves left to right.

Mine was way off to left..just moved it to center for now.. these aren't test fired so im sure its just the way it was put on.
 
Picked mine up at the post office today. Straight as an arrow, just a small 1/4" bow in the Stock. I will do a little re-profiling when I refinish the wood (or possibly make a new stock that is a bit longer). My Slant Comp did not arrive with the rifle, I am sure it will arrive from out east.
