All-New: Type 81M

Based on the order number people have posted, and when they received updates. TI can process approximately 45 orders per day. The turn around for orders in the 265XX-267XX range was approximately 4-6 days from ordering to shipping notice, assuming TI was working over the weekend, which appears to have been the case.

Based on this, we can assume that orders in the 27### range will begin shipping early next week. Either Sunday the 24th if they are working the weekend again, or Monday the 25th. Projecting out that means orders in the 28### range won't receive a shipping notice until April 12-19th.

Hope that helps some people plan out their range trip dates as they wait. Take it with a grain of salt because that's just based on what I could find and it makes a lot of assumptions.

So 10 people taking care of the shipping are only getting 45 out per day? Not even 5 shipped per person? That seems extremely low...especially considering I've read people mention getting late night emails from them.
I'm in no rush really, so it shows up when it shows up. I just won't be taking it to the range next week.

Ordered mine a week ago, still "order received" seriously... how long does it take to ship a gun???

Order process for one gun:
-Download invoice, assign invoice number, determine if paid
-Check PAL address matches delivery address, if not hold, contact customer
-Obtain RCMP transfer number, contact customer if RCMP email isn't correct
-Assign serial number, update ledger
-Create shipping label, multiple if applicable
-Send label package to warehouse via email
-Print invoice
-Locate serial number tied to client
-Add accessories as applicable
-Tape, attach label

Now multiply by many thousand all on same day, plus many hundreds of emails and voicemails, and I'm sure it can be imagined, it will take a long time to get through everything!

Things such as fragmented or delayed payments, order changes and additions, problems with PAL verification, can all add time and complexity to the process, and may result in added lead times to order. Thank-you for your order, and thank-you for your patience!

Some underfolder goodness for you all to drool over as we wait for our Type 81s to come in

I'll do a side by side once my type 81 comes in

Keep up the good work TI, we appreciate it

Did tactical import expect the under folder to be a lot more popular than the fixed stock? and hence bought in more? Or do people just prefer fixed stock?

Underfolder new and interesting, so more of those were ordered. Nobody wanted fixed on SE shipment. On SA shipment, nobody wanted folders :)

Just got my T81M Under Folder (265XX). I'm really digging the look of this rifle, it doesn't feel any heavier than my old T81, and the stock is firm when opened and locked. However, the safety is difficult to operate in its current position and can't be operated with the folder closed. Aside from all that I'm excited to take it to the range.

I've seen two T81M fixed stocks that were both slightly canted to the right. Seems to only be the wood buttstock that is not carved perfectly straight.

Anyone look down their rifles from both ends at arms length and see the slight bow?

Almost all fixed stocks have some slight off angle to the stocks, it seems. (Receiver and barrel alignment usually appear perfect)

Personally I can't stand anything not perfectly straight.

No response to my post yet. ^^^^^^^^

Would probably be same case as before if it was the same type of folding stock as the first few shipments. I think the under folder looks great and would have bought one of I was rich, but ended up going for the fixed because it's more practical. I get a sense that the stock preference for most people is likely something like: original folding>fixed>under folder.

Have faith - 284** , ordered Mar.14 - picked it up from the post office last night!

*in my dreams*

*** Edited once saw your "In your dreams" lol Got me!

As the kids say pics or it didn't happen. I'm in late 283s, ordered on Mar 14, and it's still in the "order received" stage. Lots of people in 27s without RCMP emails either judging by this thread.
