Hi, so does this batch of type 81m fixed stock rifles have the bent issue, and the underfolders do not have the bent issue?
One guy posted a pic, not exactly conclusive. If every single T81 buyer came on this thread and verified that is the only way we would get a count of how many bent rifles there are and the proportion per variant. Which is not going to happen
Received my under folder. Barrel is straight, it looks good.
Does your stock have up and down play with extended/unfolded?
What is the barrel O.D. thickness on the new Type 81m?
Bent rifles have been blown out of proportion to the extreme imo. People act like they dont work or something
(maybe in the most extreme cases they dont but not that im aware of) I had one for the longest time and didnt even realize it. Was just as accurate as any other t81 i owned, as the sights are attached to the barrel itself and zeroed the "bend" has no effect on seemingly anything other than aesthetics for the most anal retentive people. Again i didn't even notice the bend, as most never would unless specifically hunting for it. Never bothered me but to each their own. For this price and for a rifle ive never even heard of anyone having a stoppage with bent or no, it's still an amazing deal any way you slice it.
My under folder measure .709”. The measurement was taken between the front sight and gas block

Apparently the bent rifle issue is back, according to a guy on Facebook! Fingers crossed this is a bs Facebook post and not true.
Customer measured gun, barrel is only 0.6mm off center, therefore within specification.
The top handguard is not centered perfectly, as well as the top cover and the opening on the right side, making it look "bent". Due to inaccuracies in using visual methods, the proper way to measure is to remove top cover and bolt, use a straight edge with stand-off blocks clamped to side of receiver, then measuring the differences at the barrel end.
There were less then 0.05% (half of a tenth of a percent) rifles affected over the entire SA and SE shipments, yet continues to be a big and ongoing controversy.
