All-New: Type 81M

Has anyone been able to contact TI? Ordered an under folder on the 15th but forgot to add shipping insurance so have been trying to contact them since then, emails, calling and leaving voicemails but haven’t heard back. Never even got the rcmp email then this Monday I get an email from TI saying my address didn’t match the one on my PAL and after looking I did forgot to put my apt number with the address I gave TI, my mistake, but I’ve emailed since, corrected the address on TI’s site, called pretty much every business hour since Monday and left voicemails with no luck. Getting close to three weeks with no reply from my first email, feeling like I might have to get the credit card to refund it at this point, which sucks because I’ve ordered from TI many times and always got good service but this is not acceptable.

Please be sure to check junkmail, oftentimes our responses end up there. Also be sure email entered is correct and not an apple based one (they don't go through at all)!

Do you have a voicemail setup? Is it full? Oftentimes vm is full as well and we can't return call.

Tbh insurance is probably not needed, with the way these things are packed you can drop them down a flight of stairs and it'd still be fine inside. Also not sure if we've had a rifle go missing before

So much for TI's promise "10 guys are working hard and it will be different this time" - actually, it was never as bad as this and Nick always answers that the email landed in some junk folder, lol. Even during normal times the responses and service are not good. I get always the feeling that there is some kind of communication confusion between Nick, Zac and Henry.

wow that was rude. if CP ever being helpful, i didn't even need to register a account here today to post. just trying to see if others in ON expecting the same delay.

That's not even that bad, Literally all you have to do is drift the front sight base to the right and that rifle will zero just fine. My first gen type 81 has worse bend than that and I was still able to zero it. If it had the LMG style front sight base like these M models have, I wouldn't even worry about it at all, as the sight picture is completely unaffected by windage adjustments.

Also to those wondering why there's a seemingly large number of those reporting "bad" rifles vs good, it's a well known phenomenon that those with positive experiences with a product are far less likely to report about it on a review site/forum than those with problems. In other words, an inherent type of bias. So keep that in mind.

When I get mine, I will be reporting back here whether mine is bent or not.

If you like mine I'll sell it to you. save TI the hassle of a return

No thanks, already bought a fixed stock model (which I am still waiting to arrive) and have zero interest in an underfolder. Not because of any bent barrel nonsense, but because underfolding stocks really aren't that great, like I've explained before. If you're really bothered by it, just get a ahold of TI and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Just received mine and its out of spec. After measuring using the deviation test a dozen times to confirm all had the same results. TI has said they will deal with it and the gentleman on the phone was quite pleasant so with that so far the customer service has been good. Just awaiting a response to my email on how to proceed.

It will zero with irons- no problem. It’ll be difficult to zero with an optic.

Again - resale will be lower then the purchase price.

There is a large number of people reporting poor aesthetic quality rifles because there is a large number of aesthetically poor quality rifles.

Most people wouldn’t even know about the t81 unless they are a member of this forum. So most people will post up their observations if they have one to make.

These are mass produced communist service quality rifles.

Are there currently any mounts (for a red dot type sight) that are quick detachable AND that mount on the rear sight assembly?

Most mounts arent underfolder compatible it seems
