All-New: Type 81M

I really like the folder after I cleaned it and dry fired a bit. Chinweld is no problem and brings sights on target right away, I'm used to shooting Mosin PU where chinweld is all you get. Actual AK bakelite grip is a big upgrade, just the right size for me and very comfortable.

Are you able to share me a source on where to get a Bakelite grip?

Here is pics of mine. Barrel is straight within 0.12mm, super Happy. Stock has a slight bend, it is 3.3mm off to the RHS from the Receiver centerline, not a big deal at all. Looking down the Barrel, the cleaning rod hole in the rear Trunnion is 100% concentric.
I am happy, hope to run a couple hundred rounds through it on Sunday. Then re-finish the Wood.

all 3 of mine measure at around or well below 1mm ..

I can't figure out how to get pics to work in here so my apologies and I hope I can explain this in a way you guys can visualize, but is a slight concave or bend along the receiver normal? If I place a flat object along the right side of the receiver it is tight on the two farthest ends but there is a 1-2mm gap in the middle, indicating the receiver wall itself is bent inwards towards the bolt assembly. It's such that I can notice the bend with the naked eye when shouldering the rifle. It also feels like there is slightly more friction when cycling the bolt (perhaps due to the receiver squeezing the bolt assembly due to the inward bend?). My T81 SE has this characteristic as well to a slight degree, but it's not nearly as noticeable.

Thanks, double check for that in morning..

This as to be more than 4mm

You have consistently been wrong about "bent barrels".

Is the stock off from back to front? Yes.

But from the rear sight to the front, it's straight. The barrel is STRAIGHT.

Please get a clue.

Is it bad that these have misaligned stocks (receiver) from back to front?

Yes.

Does it mean that the bolt is pushing a round in at an angle:

Yes.

Any ramifications for that? Dunno.

I have asked TI for an exchange and awaiting their response. This is my first time dealing with/purchasing from TI and hopefully, they'll make this right.

How so? I am one of the few who actually did the homework and properly measure mine.https://imgur.com/a/0Q8N0Bx

As requested burnyburnout, pic added to show the rifle too. I just followed up with TI. I'm not ok with the bend regardless of what they consider to be "in spec".

Out of all the rifles shown in this thread with images, this one is easily the most severely bent. Even I can't defend this one. No way that's within TI's spec just from eyeballing it. All you need to do now is measure it via the magnets and rulers test and report back with the exact measurements.

Also, for those new here, what we mean by "bent barrel" isn't the barrel literally being bent; it's that the front trunnion hole wasn't drilled straight on, causing the barrel, when pressed and pinned into place, to point to one side or the other. For whatever reason, the overwhelming majority of "bent barrels", regardless of how much deviation there is, are bent to the right.

Semantics?
Is the barrel bent? i.e. Is the steel tube curved?
Or is the barrel installed in the receiver in such a manner that the axis of the receiver and the axis of the barrel diverge? The receiver and barrel axes are not co-axial?
I have yet to see any reports of barrels not being straight, the barrel itself being curved.
The alignment problem seems to be in the receiver assembly, the assembly of the barrel trunnion and pressed steel receiver being out of line.

Regardless of what the issue is it must be rectified , they should have been inspected prior to shipping them out

They should have been inspected/gauged before leaving the factory. The misalignments being reported are evident to the naked eyeball - pretty obvious.

Exactly my point.

Is it acceptable? Not really.

Will it shoot straight using the iron sights? Yes.
