Alpharms 15SA Initial findings.

As for that tiny charging handle, this will do until something else becomes available. Modeled then printed out of PLA for now, and put on with super glue as a fitment test. If it holds up I'll redo it in ABS and glue it together with acetone.

Two halves:

It looks like this mounted, and my hands are going Ahhhhhh:

Check for a burr in the chamber where the extractor cut is machined, I have seen this, in some guns, clean it up with a few strokes with a needle file and you may solve your problem. Let me know your results please.

I did that it stops the rounds from being ripped up ,

Ok, I bought some light loads based on an earlier recommendation but what do you consider a "good load".
Would that be just a normal 2 3/4 shell? Velocity 1600 ok?
Sorry, but I'm a novice with shot guns and these terms don't mean much to me.

Personally I would start with a good 2 3/4 inch load, I don't think shot size is important.

My coworker picked one of these up from you guys last weekend and although the first couple rounds through the shotgun had some hiccups, once we put some high-powered loads and lets the mags sit loaded overnight she was running like a champ with every load we had all the way down to 7 1/2 target loads.

I like this idea of leaving the mags sit loaded over night..... it may help the loading.

I think we are all getting a little over concerned with what loads are used for the initial break in. I have found that these guns will digest a variety of loads with no problems. More importantly that what loads are used I recommend keeping the operating mechanism generously lubed during the break in period which is probable for the first 500 rds. Use a good oil, I would start with a light medium load initially if possible but this is not critical.

I don't recall anyone answering this: are these Commercial (1.17" OD) or Mil-spec (1.14" OD) rear buffer tubes?

I want to order the correct replacement stock when I feel like going to town on this. :)

Here is the next version of the 3D printed charging handle in ABS. This one has holes on each side for a tiny screw to hold it on (you can also glue it with a bit of acetone), and I added ribs for better grip.

If you are local to the Hamilton/Burlington area PM me and I can get you one of these for free, but it might be pink LOL

At first I thought I had a significant blemish on the metal upper of my SA15.

It turned out that they missed a strip 1 inch wide by 5 inches long when they did the final oiling before shipping.

Once I oiled the blemish it disappeared leaving one beautiful SA15 behind.

Thanks for the heads up Evan!

Well done Wolverine !! I wasn't shipped a choke wrench and a mag was damaged ( looking back on it now it was probably me fighting with it to get it out ) , I contacted Wolverine and both are on the way ...FREE ..GRATIS ...ZILCH ...NADA ... lol :d
As well I was advised to try taking a punch to the raised spine of the mag that didn't insert into the magwell ...and sure enough it now drops free , inserts and locks into position . So I took the punch to my other 4 mags as well .
My target loads didn't function well the other day so I found some 2 3/4 inch full loads to try .
I hope to get a couple rounds out of it tomorrow for another function test and lots this Saturday !!

Thanks again to management and crew at Wolverine .

Mine arrived today.

I hate Canada Post so much... I was home all day, my wife works from home. Tracking showed that they "attempted delivery" around 1PM. Of course, they didn't. Tracking also said they "left a notice"... which they didn't.

Surprise, surprise - I had to drive to the local PO to pick it up. The delivery notice will magically appear tomorrow in my mailbox.

Anyway, picked it up, the box was mangled pretty bad. Tears all over, holes in the box, it's clear some monkey at CP enjoyed tossing it around. I really think our friends at Wolverine will need to add a small piece of styrofoam or something around that charge handle to protect it against mishandling. :(

Shotgun seemed to survive, but we'll see when I put a couple dozen heavy rounds through it. I don't suspect there will be any issues though.

It was well-oiled, and I am still thrilled with what was sold to me at that price. Folding portion of the stock was a little rough to get out, but I was able to remove it. I struggled a bit with loading and unloading magazines as well as releasing the charge handle, but I think I got the hang of it now.

This weekend I'm going to strip it down, degrease a few parts in preparation for duracote and see how swanky I can make it look.

Thanks again to the guys at Wolverine for everything. I look forward to dealing with them again on another purchase in the future!

Received my box yesterday too. Found a hole near the charging handle and it was missing.
Looks like the handle must have punched through the box and then hung up somewhere and snapped off.
Strange, the rest of my box was untouched and didn't notice the damage until I got it home.
It was handed to me with the hole side down and that's how I carried it to the car.
I've contacted Evan via email.

Just wanted people to be aware to check packages thoroughly before accepting them.

My apologies for the broken charging handles, our packaging was not up to standard, that is my fault alone. We have already taken steps to pad the handle with a wad of foam to protect them. As Alpharms "forgot" to ship my order of spare parts with the guns we kept back a handful of guns so we could cannibalize them for parts if required. To those of you who have a broken handle please e-mail Evan with your invoice # and serial # of the gun. If you can remove the broken end we can simply mail you a replacement, if you can not remove the broken end simply return the complete bolt to us. Again my apologies for the inconvenience I know it is very frustrating when you wait for a new "toy" and it arrives broken.

Meh, I think 98% of us know that we're dealing with a group of stand-up guys and that we're the first group of people to take delivery on something totally new. This stuff happens, and you're already prepared to resolve any issues.

We're beta testers, really. It happens.

I wouldn't go that far John - it's almost impossible to get ahead of a determined postal employee who lobs packages like a football; and it gets worse when the thing flops around inside the box. Not to give you any advice, :) but I've learned that (after shipping literally tons of military firearms) that suspending the firearm in the shipping box generally works the best. Block of cardboard or styrofoam at each end with cutouts for the muzzle & butt of the stock.

Wow, I haven't even bought one of these.

All the best,

Very good advice. When you ship something, if it can move inside the box, you haven't packaged it correctly.
