Have you lowered the feed ramp with the lever in front of the mag well?

Yes it's the barrel were it gets thicker around the chamber hitting on the piece of metal that joins the action bars. It comes out 99 percent of the way then hits

Have you taken the hinge out or left it in? I found it much more comfortable and quicker to handle with it out.

What's stopping them from producing a .223 in this platform and coming out with it as a non-restricted?

When taking the barrel out make sure the feed ramp lever is flipped up so its facing the muzzle, pull the barrel all the way forwards, if it stops just before it comes out keep some light pulling pressure on the barrel and give the bolt quick half inch "flip" and everything should come apart.
