Alpharms 15SA Initial findings.

The front site is what's holding the hand guard together eh?
Feel sturdy?

the front sight isnt the traditional AR sight, they detatch right at the fake gas port tube thing. the handguards still have a metal cap in the front that is retained by that gas nut

Oh, I know, I have one of these. Sorry, I wasn't very clear.
I meant with yours I noticed you removed the front sight that it came with and added your own.
That metal cap at the front keeps the hand guard together, but are you not using that cap since you aren't using that factory sight? And is the hand guard sturdy with that new sight holding it together?

***Edit*** Excuse my foolishness, took a better look at mine when I got home from work and I see what you mean.

how can I backorder a FIXED stock version...is there a link somewhere on your page, or do I need to call in? want to ensure I get the fixed stock (unique part number?) not the folding/adjustable. thanks

Just picked mine up... Always a sad day when the charging handle is sticking through the box when you pick it up. All good though. 4 days and I'm hitting the range.

Mine too and my rear sights were sticking through the box as well. Everything looks ok but my choke wrench is missing .
The mag and bolt release are brutal and it has a real heavy trigger pull.
I received it with the mod choke installed and 3 other chokes (#1,2,5) and a flashider in the plastic box.
First thing I did was remove the hinged butt stock extension and the front sight . Those and the carrying handle (rear sight) are going in the junk drawer.
Mounted a Bushnell TRS-25 with a riser and will try and make out today or tomorrow to test fire it.

anyone have issues with the mags seating? Got mine yesterday and tried two mags in the gun. Both do not seem to seat all the way in the gun. I really have to smack the mag in to get the mag catch to hold the mag in and even then the mag seems to sit too low, it does not activate the both catch when pulling back the bolt on an empty mag. The mag catch will catch if I push up hard on the mag and then pull the bolt back. Anyone else found this on their gun?

I saw in a video that the magazines need to be "angled" in and then up on the front "lip" of the magazine? Are you inserting them that way?
Let me see if I can find that video.

The postman dropped it off this morning, and since I was already working from home I made it to the range at lunch time. Package was perfect, and it got here quick, thanks Wolverine!

I mounted a Vortex Strikefire red dot on it and let a few rounds loose. I can only shoot slugs at my range and only had S&B target loads. They are only 2 5/8" long, so keep that in mind. Out of my 5 mags, 3 fit very well and 2 are a bit on the tight side, but I'm sure the mag well will open up a bit with use. I only put 1 box though it.

I had a number of fail to feeds, and looking at the positions they were in it is probably due to the short length. The gun manual says to break it in with heavy loads, so I'll need to get that done. The bolt release is stiff as is the mag release. both items should wear in with use.

The one item that needs addressing is the bolt handle, it is tiny (hurts my delicate hands) and will need some sort of replacement or cover made for it. I'll try to 3D print one and see if I can find a good fit, it is shaped like an hourglass and will be a challenge.

I am pleased with what I have seen so far, it shoots very straight, I can't wait to get it out for some skeet and trap.

Took mine out at lunch for a romp. I had 10 FTF and 3 FTE.

Patterns nice. With the full choke and a red dot, it will be a real turkey killer.

Seems 1 of my mags need some work. There is an underside lip burr and its grabbing the next feeding shell. It tore up 2 shells pretty good. Looks like the extra aftermarket mag too, there is a clear difference in the mags. Boxed mags with the gun were black oxided, the aftermarket extra sales mags were blued, well at least in my case. Once I stopped using the one mag things were good.

Magnum shells are flawless, from 10 slugs and 6 buck shot no issues at all. Got the iron sights bang on at 50 with slugs in 2 shots, happy about that. I did swap out the plastic hand carrier ( rear sight ) with a milspec Colt one I had in a drawer. The Federal " target loads " did hick-up a bit, but i think that should be corrected with some examination. I will tear this puppy down on the weekend and smooth the edges and work on the trigger and give it a second chance next week

Slide release paddle......I can see it breaking, you really have to wack it to release the bolt with a fresh mag. Its no tuned AR release. An area to watch.

It was fun to shoot, I looked bad ass. I hope to take some folks from work out in the next few weeks to battle some zombie water jugs. ( team building exercise )

Would I recommend one.......wait for Gen III when the bugs are worked out and its proven.....cause you need a 12ga AR type gun in your collection. I would be interested to see where the breakages and warranty claims originate.
here is my list of areas to watch for:
Cocking lever ( to small and skinny )
Paddle slide release ( to hard and exposed )
plastic safety switch ( its plastic, should be cast 4140 hammer forged )
stock extension ( glass nylon will break if not kept hydrated )
in order of possible failures

feel free to chime in

Two of my mags are blued. Two are more of a parkerized finish. I don't know what mags came with the gun but the two that are parkerized fit a lot looser than the blues ones.

If you didn't order additional mags, I'd suggest the parkerized ones are the looser fitting.

I had one slug that was the last round in a magazine fail to feed - the bolt rode over it. This may have been because the slug had been deformed in its rim or because the mag feed lips need to be spread slightly (according to my research)

The blued mags are very tight.

I've not had the problem of the mags sitting to low to activate the mag catch.

Interesting, the OP gave me exactly the opposite advice: break it in with target loads.
I think I have the same loads as you and will probably go to the same range. ;)

Took mine out and used a dozen federal and a dozen winchester target loads and had lots of FTE and FTF with mine :( .
The 2 mags that came with it look parkerized and one of them jams in the magwell really bad when trying to insert it .
I have to fight with it for a minute or two to get it to come out.
The 3 spare mags I ordered have more of a satin or blued finish .They insert and come out of the magwell better .
I worked the bolt release and mag release back and forth a couple hundred times and it loosed it up a bit.
I didn't get a choke wrench with mine and there is a mark on the barrel where the front sight was .
Hopefully I can get the bugs worked out of it...so my first impression is luke warm at best .
