I didn't get a call so I just called them today and completed the deal.
We can do that? I know what I'm up to tomorrow...

Call?!? Damnit, I'm completely unavailable during business hours to take a call at work. Don't know if I've received a call or not, as I have random missed calls all the time, but nobody's left me a voicemail. Can't you just complete the purchase with the credit-card info already on file? I actually assumed my gun was already on the way :-(
We do not make a habit of leaving messages on phones about firearm purchasers because of security and the very real fear of upsetting wives or girl friends.
Correct, we do not keep CC info on file. Everyone was free to pay in full up front if they chose to. Any one can call, fax or e-mail in their details to complete their order.
In these situtations with new suppliers our policy is not to take full payment up front as we have no control over deliveriey times, we feel this is fairer to our customers, it also proves that we are not using your funds to finance the purchase. I appreciate that this may make life a little frustrating now. Doesn't help in my case. I rarely get phone calls so when I do, pretty sure she knows what it's about.
The best cure is to create online orders for us that we can then pay online. No phone calls needed.
Saves you time (assuming you can create the orders electronically) and potential marital difficulties for some.
We are working on ways to improve our service, there is a way of recording your CC securely but we do not have it fully integrated into our system yet. When this is fully set up we can simply take final payment when the product arrives and ship with out contacting the customer. Some customers require a phone call first before we ship, others prefer to pay by EMT, there is not one system that would appear to keep everyone happy. Unfortunately we can not complete back orders on the web site.
I was hesitant to accept full pre-payment for this first shipment as I was unsure how accurate the quoted delivery time would be, as it turned out everything was on time dispite delays in securing a flight and Air Canada split up the shipment causing some more difficulties.
We are now accepting orders from our second shipment with an ETA of approx. 30 days, if any one would like to pay in full when they place their order they can do so. We would need your full details so when the guns arrive there would be no phone call we would simply ship the gun, you would receive a automated e-mail from Canada Post (assuming you supply correct e-mail address) when the gun is shipped.
John,
Is is possible to set up pre-orders with your web system?
That would solve a lot of these kinds of issues.
Credit card isn't charged until the product arrives but you have all required info.
