Aluminum AR180B lower. *Update DONE!*

Well, after having little chances to work on the lower I'm finally getting some shop time. My biggest hurdle is fighting with all the other classes in there for a free mill. I'm planning to stay for the night classes all week and there is plenty of open mills. I should be able to finish it this week or get it damn close.

Here's the latest picture. The right side is pretty much all machined. Tomorrow I'll get started on the other side. It's starting to look like a gun!

My plan is to eventually mount a Magpul MIAD grip with the integral enhanced trigger guard.

I asked wolverine what just an upper assembly would cost. It was something like $900. Damn near the cost of a complete one.

So my idea is this, sell the billet lowers and offer a kit to convert the stock polymer lower to a 9mm carbine. :D
This is just an idea, of course.

DONE!

Well damn close. :D
I just need to fit the grip, which I don't have. A few cosmetic touches like rounding some corners and what not. Also, the hole for the trigger needs some opening up, nothing serious. Mainly, I just need an AR15 lower parts kit.

I'm still debating whether or now I should keep the trigger guard as is, or modify it to use the Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard.

Well you should of gotten a bigger piece of alu so you could of cut a one piece trigger guard. I like my magpul trigger guard, but its your lower so its your call.

Dude, that looks SCHWEET! Are you going to gunkote it, powder cote whats going to make it evil and black?

I would have gone with a bigger chunk but I was limited by the size of the magwell broach.

LEGAL QUESTION: Does the serial number have to be visible? I'm thinking of putting it between the upper and lower reciever and leaving the rest of the gun clean and untouched.

have it finished just as the first 10 round ar mags land from questar !
I could have had it done months ago if I would have had shop time.

As for the 'when is it a firearm question, I must have it registered and verified 30 days after it is able to discharge ammunition.
