Am I a total noob?

There's some issues going on. The head of the empty hull is off. The trigger group looks out of place and the lifter looks like it's below the pump
Give you credit if you racked the pump hard enough to fold the empty hull in the action. That takes some skill and strength lol

I'd completely tear the gun down and reassemble and see if it continues

Does not appear to me to be an entirely well functioning and safe shotgun.

Ok sorry, is there perhaps some sort of factory grease present that you haven't removed? Is there a metallic roughness or burr left somewhere on the loading or ejection mechanism that you can remove or polish off? Was the shell a reload? Was it from a company that starts with W?

Why didn't that empty eject? And why did you force everything into the mess it is now? That empty hull didn't get all balled up by accident. It looks like in the process of doing whatever it was that you did, that the trigger group got damaged. It looks like the forward pin has broken out of the ears. I would take the barrel off and clear that wadded up empty and then remove the trigger group. There will be extra pieces. I don't think this can be entirely blamed on the make of shotgun or the ammo used. This required serious operator input.

Actually, this is the result of shooting a shell and leaving it as is, did not try to rack it or anthing afterwards since this was the third consecutive occurrence

That's what I'm wondering, only happened on the third jam, but the two first ones pushed back the bolt as far back and jammed it badly.

That's how I cleared the two first jams.

The shell isn't a reload, and the ammo is Winchester.
There is some oil, but not grease and no burr. First 8 shots went smoothly

That's what I first thought, but then I made sure it was locked before firing the one shown in the picture

Thanks! Any online shop you'd recommend for used shotguns?

Pump guns to look for.....

Winchester Model 12
Ithaca Model 37
Remington Model 31
Remington Wingmaster

Look in the Equipment exchange here. (check the trader ratings)
Look at ####### (no trader rating...buyer beware)

Any gunstore that has an on line presence. Or any gunstore you walk into. There is a hole in the wall gun shop near me.....every time I walk in, there are at least 2 of those 4 guns. When they are that available I really don't understand the desire to waste money on new budget Turkish guns.

OK I looked at the picture, the gun looks really buggered, You said in the other post that you unjammed it with a hammer and punch?
That could have busted something .
It will have to be totally striped down and checked, The reason for the first jam, Hard to tell now

Fully agree with Canvasback. The Ithaca Model 37 and Remington Model 31 are near-perfect guns, butter-smooth (the Ithaca ejects downwards, the Remington to the side - otherwise almost identical). They are under-rated, and mostly under-valued on the used market, which makes them real bargains (both can be had for around $300, or more in better condition). (I never liked the look and feel of the Wingmaster, too bulky - I know, that's heresy on CGN, but to each their own). I put well over 8000 hunting rounds through a 50s-era Ithaca 37 in 16 gauge, without a single fault, and nothing ever wore out. If I was to go back to pump guns, I would zero in on one of these, probably in 16 for the weight and balance, or a 12 for ease of feeding. And I would stick to 1oz loads, just as effective, and easier on the body.

To the original poster, small gunshops and the EE are your friend. Gun shows are also coming back, and these are always a good source for Model 37s and Model 31s. Good luck finding what you need.
