If it was an out of battery explosion, you’d see a whole lot of powder burns, a bulged shotshell head, way more damage to the gun and possibly some blood.
The white shell appears to be intentionally cut and there aren’t any powder burns on its cut edges. It all looks too pristine.

Why are there two different colour hulls in there? The red one looks intentionally crumpled and jammed into the tube with the white one cut up behind it.
The hull beside the shotgun on the ground, what is that? What happened to its head? Looks to be cut clean off.
Is this a joke? Clown photo?

It is one hull blown apart! The white is the base wad of the shell ... not the shot cup ....

Ahhhhhh … I think you are on to something …. now that you are saying it … this seems to be an intergalactic multi stage photon rocket beamer that was cut on purpose … and that aliens converted to an earthly 12ga shell …

It all makes sense now. Two thumbs up!!!

But this is worrisome ….. they managed to get multi stage photon rocket beamers into our ammo supply …. even Winchester ammo is affected …. ufffffffff …. I now need to check all my ammo …. shell by shell …10 thousand rounds … all by hand …. :-(

Or does anybody know of a better way to detect intergalactic photon rocket beamers?

No chance that firearm was purchased new. It looks to have been modified and clearly made unsafe. I doubt there will be any warranty on it. Likely cheaper to buy another than to try and fix that gun.
