...Chinese firearms are the minivans of the gun world...

EVERY ammo company produces some amount of crap, every week. You can pay a premium price for it, or bargain basement for it, but eventually, you'll find crap from every maker. You just have to shoot enough.
It is better to shoot alot and buy a new rifle when this one is shot out than staying home because an ammo reason... In my book that is... JP.
Just checked Ammo Source and it is $460/1000 plus shipping plus tax which in Ontario works out to .55/rd (not close to .40/rd). Canada Ammo Norc is currently $319/1120 plus tax which works out to .32/rd. That means shooting the norc ammo saves you $230 vs the bulk AE from SFRC (per 1000 rounds). $230 saved per 1000 buys a lot of $200 barrels or even a few fancy-schmancy cr5 barrels![]()

If you go with the estimates from previous posters of about 20 000 rounds to wear out a barrel with norc ammo, and your math is correct in what you save per 1000 rounds... thats $4600 by the time the barrel is worn out. Havent yet seen a $4500 barrel for sale anywhere. Thats worth nearly double what my whole gun is worth.
This says everything that can be said on the subject.
Until someone has enough time and money to track actual failure RATES of the various brands of ammunition with large sample sizes (number of failures per 10000 rounds fired), nothing useful can be added to the discussion.
I'll never run it in any of my rifles.
Too many reports of people having problems for me to waste my money on it.
I also like to make groups not just make noise and cause unnecessary wear on my barrels. If I had a cheap AR with an easy to change $200 barrel I wouldn't care much but my barrels cost more than that and some of them aren't easy to replace.
It's junk and I don't waste my time or money on junk. Saying it goes bang almost every time isn't enough reason for me to use it.
