Starting to build out my reloading gear. Had a great alternative idea from a member re: shell holder case (bobbin case or m-s pill case - went with the daily pill case as I had one handy!)

Now looking for case blocks/holder alternative ideas. Something to hold the cases as I prime/size, load charges. I really like the Area 419 billet style.

Lmk what you use. Room coming together.

I just use a couple of the Frankford universal loading trays. They fit most stuff pretty well and it’s easy to batch things off and set them aside. Stuff that is too big for those trays I switch to a mtm 20 gauge tray.

For low cost option, the plastic trays that factory ammunition comes in can often be found discarded in the trash at the range

Home made with wood is a good option as well

You know that you are trying to save yourself $12 or $13, right? Google up RCBS - they show a 50 round tray - might be what you want. Or get a 2x4 or 2x6 - Flat bottom wood bit of the size you are interested in - lay out grid - drill out with drill press or by hand?

If you buy Redding dies the lid holds 20 rounds.

Otherwise I use the MTM Case Guard universal loading trays. About $17 and hold 50 rounds of a lot of different calibres

Odd sizes I 3D print my own

You are welcome : ) Did not know you were on CGN as well.

Regarding case blocks;
I'm not much of a Frankfort Arsenal fan for most of their reloading stuff but I do like their "perfect fit" reloading trays and have a couple different ones of these.

And here is a picture of my bobbin case:

That case is what I looked at Bert! Thanks again. If I need the pill case I will swap to that one’.

If you are around a flyshop, tying threads come in a 12pak plastic container that would be good for small stuff, cheap clear plastic, but, the price is usually right on them. I bought 5 old style RCBS blocks 40-45 yrs ago, not perfect for everything, but, they work, made some wood ones too, think I have an MTM universal somewhere as well. I can't wrap my head around buying the aluminum ones. Lots of 3d printed cases for things like comparators and shellholders and sizing bushings around too.
Just bought 2 26" wide, cheap 4 drawer middle tool boxes to clean up some storage issues on my bench to reclaim some space, haven't really started to root around for what I've acquired here to use in the drawers yet.
