Ammo can spam can opener?

Brass cases are Berdan. Tough to reload if you are not set up for it.

No sealer or staking, probably wouldn't need the swager setup would you?

I expect no less from Soviet Teknology! :D

@Stevo: Nice photos. Waiting for the licensing process to be done is growing painful.

Thanks. What are you licensing?

They put the opener IN the can? That's....silly.

No, the opener is inside the crate, not the cans.

FWIW, I shot about 40 rounds of the Chinese M43 in my pictures this evening and it worked like a charm. It ran my XCR on the #1 gas setting as compared to Czech surplus which has to be on #2 or even #3.

No info on the accuracy, I was just checking for function.

It would have been funnier had it it been inside the cans ;)

I'm doing PAL and RPAL, but due to circumstances the two courses were a month apart so it's slowing things down.

I have to admit that after taking the RPAL course, I'm of a mixed feeling on getting restricted firearms. On one hand it was pretty cool to handle handguns, on the other hand the restrictions are well, pretty serious.

A friend of mine has access to a large secluded property with nice hills (ie backstops), perfect for casual shooting... but can't bring restricted firearms there.

If you don't go the restricted route because of the extra work, the government wins.

It's a PITA to get started, not so bad after that.

There are a tonne of guys on the base every year that get a PAL but don't get the RPAL because of the gubbermint bull####. About a year after receiving their licence, most of them are staring at some nice shinny black gun or pistol and they're pissy because they can't buy it or have to wait till their licence is upgraded.

Get the RPAL. It's better to have and not need, than need and not have.

I just split a case of Chinese ammo with my brother. Did they use copper at one point for the case instead of steel or brass?

Not exactly. The case is steel with a copper wash to prevent corrosion. It does the same job as the lacquer coating on Czech surplus, for example.

Oh I agree with you and I intend to proceed that way... I just mean the post license hassle. You can do far more with an unrestricted firearm than a restricted one.
