.....so he sold 7 cases....?

I think he sold mostly 500 round "bricks". It was in Penticton so that is decent as it is a pretty small show.

Yes that would equal 7 cases.

Told me one guy bought two cases of .308 Nosler, can't remember if it was the Match of Partition. That is great ammo, shot some late last year, bought a case after that.

Our LGS just got 50 cases of 7.62x39 Chinese Corrosive, 12 cases went the first day, for a small town, that's saying a lot, last year, cases of Czech sat around for months looking for a home!

That only shows that people from your town strongly prefer Chinese ammo over Czech. ;)

I suspect the shortages will American panic buying will abate temporarily, with the defeat of the Obama gun control bill.

If it does, and we see resumption of supply at last year's price or cheaper, I'll be stocking up. There's still the UN ammo registry bill in the works.

recent news report claims ammo manufacterer had to lay off employees as they cannoy source raw materials . crazy considering the current market

Who? Do you have a link?

What possible raw materials are in short supply on this planet?

google it. while you are at it google police forces are training with airsoft you may not think there is a shortage but that doesnt change the facts

I was in Cabela's in edmonton yesterday. They are CLEANED OUT of 22lr. They have only 5 cases of wildcats, NO CCI minimags, NO Bushman, NO 333, only a little Federal. NO ammo cans.

The shelf space has been repurposed for other items.

This is the same locations where I posted pictures of millions of rounds a couple of month ago!

Anyone who doesn't think there is a shortage is delusional!

Gopher season hasn't even started yet!

I can post pics if anyone wants...

Nope, you made a claim, now tell us the manufacturer who said it or you are only contributing to the rumour mill.

As for police using airsoft because there is no ammunition, this is another ridiculous story making its circles.

Anyone training in the US with airsoft, is doing it in addition to any live fire with real ammunition, not in place of. A lack of simmuntion has turned some to airsoft as well.

There is no shortage of supply, just retarded levels of demand from the fearmongering hoarders and those they get worked into panic to buy.

And yes, this is leaving some US police departments that buy as they need due to budget constraints to cut back on training some, but it does not mean they have to use airsoft in place of it to practice.

As for Canadian agencies, as above the above post from Saskatoon shows there is no shortage, and I can second that with the 1000 rounds of Speer Lawman I picked up from stores the other day should I find the time to make it to the range in the next little while.

Why are you so insistent in trying to whip everyone else into this doom and gloom frenzy of panic buying over a shortage?

Is there anything you can show it is not demand driven, or that can persist without the fearmongering and hoarding?

How about a dose of reality from one of the major manufacturers to quell all these rumours;

A Word on Availability

The current political climate has caused extremely high demand on all shooting industry products, including ours. Empty retail shelves, long backorders, and exaggerated price increases on online auction sites – all fueled by rumors and conjecture – have amplified concerns about the availability of ammunition and firearms-related items.

If the information you hear doesn’t originate from Hornady Manufacturing, don’t believe it.

Here are some of rumors we’ve heard, and questions we’ve received:

Have you stopped production, or has the government forced you to stop? Not at all.

Did you stop selling bullets so you could only make loaded ammunition? Absolutely not.

Since we can’t find your product you must be selling it all to the government? Nope, less than 5% of our sales are to government entities.

Why can’t you make more? Ramp up production? Turn on all the machines? We’ve been steadily growing our production for a long time, especially the last five years. We’ve added presses, lathes, CNC equipment, people and space. Many popular items are produced 24 hours a day. Several hundred Hornady employees work overtime every week to produce as much as safely possible. If there is any question about that – please take a tour of the factory. You’ll be amazed at what you see.

We are producing as much as we can; much more than last year, which was a lot more than the year before, etc. No one wants to ship more during this time than we do.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience. We don’t know when the situation will improve, so please bear with us a little longer. And remember, when it comes to Hornady Manufacturing, if you don’t hear it from us, please don’t believe it.

So please, everyone take it from the manufacturers putting out unprecedented supply into the system: step back, breathe, stop the fear mongering rumours, and relax. Don't hoard more in a panic market. You just fuel it more, and drive up the price irrationally to the market supply.
