I've been looking around for a lever action .22 and finally found something I liked. I like my guns to be a little on the different side and this one is. It's an Ithaca Model 72 Saddle Gun. They were made from 1973-79 by Erma (a divsion of Walther) in Germany after that Henry Repeating Arms took the design over and started makeing them under their name but in a cheaper version. It has an 18 1/2" barrel and is very well balanced with a smooth action. The open sights on it are pretty crude but all metal. I shot it today on the range out back after we got home with it and was able to hold groups under the size of a Loonie at 30yrds. I figure thats pretty good with sights that were on it. I can't wait to put a nice little 1.5-4.5X scope on it. I think it's going to make a great bunnie gun. Here's a pic of it.
