An Update on Wanstalls M10x pre-order!

Truth be told, I would prefer the standard 16" barrel over the extended length 18.6" Canadian-compliant NR tube. I don't care if my firearms
are restricted, as I do all of my shooting at established, accessible shooting ranges anyways. Hopefully M+M will make every their other barrel lengths available to those of us who want to go restricted

Oh, I fully expect to pay for an extra, shorter barrel. I doubt that M+M will offer the option of restricted-length barrels with their initial NR Canadian offering, let alone the pre-sale. I'm just hoping that they proceed with the sale of spare barrels like the President of M+M has indicated they will. I like the look of the SBR, but want the performance of the 16" barrel. The 18.6" tube just looks odd and ungainly, like those Norinco AKs with the extended barrels back in the early 1990s. Barf!

Because the US version is a 16.5 inch barrel so you would be importing a restricted firearm. Then you would need to find a compatible 18.6 inch barrel which will cost you another $500 and we don't know how they are mounted so you may need a gunsmith to install it for you adding even more to the price of your grey market rifle that may become difficult to have any warranty work done on here since the importer will know that it was brought in around them.

You'd be better off to buy two rifles then, if you put a short barrel on your non restricted rifle you have to register it as restricted before you can shoot it and then have them remove it from the registry before you can take it away from the range again. Even with the NR length barrel back on the rifle is still restricted until it is removed from the registry which means calling in and waiting 3 months for them to actually do their job.

so your saying that M+M would refuse to sell the 18.6 barrel version to a fellow american because we are so special that we are going to get all of them?
Adding a canadian end user tax to grease the investors is B.S. and will only last so long, leaving would be buyers bitter towards their company in the end.
this is not a company i would be happy giving my money to and would not enjoy owning their product because of it. new guns are coming out every day. one just like it could be right around the corner for all we know from a company with a much better moral standing and respect for its customers.
good luck M+M.

I can't get over all the comments about the nr tax. Please, in all of your infinite wisdom, tell me how you all know the price that hasn't been released yet! Like a bunch of old hens!

How long does it take for M+M to come up with can msrp ?
What has it been going on 2 weeks now ? I've never seen anything like this.

you clearly havent been following the companies public statements. id rather pass on this rifle regardless of the price now.

I have followed the threads. I am not however on fakebook so I can't comment on that.
There's plenty of guys just like yourself that missed the presale that wil now take a hard "pass" on this rifle.

Please show us these comments I can't seem to find them
sorry there buried in the internet. there are many posted on the several different threads on this site alone.

as many people know from dealing with me, im not a cheap person, until things get petty.
everyone has the right to give their money to whomever they choose..

P.S. truthfully i wasnt planning on buying one in the first place. it would have been a back burner rifle. I would rather own too many other rifles first.

They wonder how high they can charge and still sell them!

On a serious note : looks like m+m got surprised by the approval, they might not even have the tooling/cost established for the canadian version. Give them time, they will come... my estimate : 2000$ canadian give or take 100$.

If the US msrp is $1200, the Canadian msrp shouldn't be more than $1600. Current exchange rate puts it at $1450, so that still leaves 150 to cover importing it ect. And from what I can gleam from Google, these were selling below msrp in the US.

IMO, any price over $1600 is an NR tax being used to prop up poor US sales, which is dirty business tactics. This company could have a big hit on their hands, we Canadians love x39 NR rifles, but instead they'd rather drag their own name through the mud in hopes of setting a higher price - which will price them right out of the market when you consider the 858, t81, m305a are all cheaper.

I'd agree with this.
The cz is $1300-$1400 now though. At $1600, you're for sure getting $200 more rifle.

It looks like M+M had the forethought to plan for the Canadian market as far back as 2 years, I really wonder what the delay is since its been approved.

Canadian specific info starts around the 2:30 mark.

I bet M+M is waiting for the drama to die down then will wait a few weeks after that to quietly come out with a price in order keep further drama at a minimum.
