And....I'm no longer a member of ISPC BC in good standing

A single incident of anything is not bullying or harassment. Look up the definition of it.

The fact that someone cannot express their disagreement directly with slavex about a PERCEIVED insult is bull$hit and spineless. Running to the BOD and demanding they act like a nanny is typical of what the problems with canada are about. You can't speak for yourself so you demand the government overreact., ban things and punish everyone in general cause one person cannot properly speak for themselves.

OK, I only got up to not quite half way through the posts. But I think I've got a solution.

First off all you folks that have said you won't shoot in IPSC over this action need to stop and reconsider. Not only would you miss out on a LOT of great shooting fun but you'll also miss out on the ability to step in and make a difference.

First off we gather up a membership cadre of Slavex supporters and get his banishment overturned by common motion and vote. The BoD cannot overtly disallow a motion or ignore a succesful vote. This assumes that the court nonsense doesn't work out.

In any event once he's back in we put forward his name as a member of the BoD and then vote him in. If that isn't a slap at the idiotic perpetrator of this nonsense then I don't know what is.

So what about it Rob, would you let your name stand for a member of the Board? Or even a higher position?

Oh, there IS one condition to this province wide movement to support your asscension to the lofty heights of Mt Olympus. We expect you to return a measure of common sense to a Board which is obviously so far up their own backsides that they have not seen the light of day since they were voted into their positions. It clearly takes more than ONE member to achieve what has been done. It had to be discussed and voted on with a sense of agreement by the board as a whole. Or at least a majority. At that point it was no longer limited to ONE person's abuse of position.

As a show of support I say all those who like this idea change or include in their sig line something like "Slavex for IPSC BC President in 2013". Or something along that line which doesn't overtly break any rules.

Lol, yeah you know what, I'd let my name stand. I won't be president at Abby as of March, so I'd have the time. Of course I'd also have to be a member in good standing in order for it to happen.
The membership can call a special meeting if they so choose, and make all sorts of motions and do all sorts of neat things. But it has to be done by the books, I can post the constitution if anyone is curious about how to do that.

31 pages of replies supporting your situation and now that I've suggested something other than typing the world goes silent?

So far it looks like a "movement" of just us two Rob.....:bangHead:

Perhaps you're forgetting that this is not a BC forum. It is Canada wide forum and most commenters are out of IPSC BC jurisdiction. Not to say that there are lot of BC members and potential supporters of Rob are not even on this forum.

You have to do your home work. Go to the matches and other events and start collecting the real names and signatures in support.

Someone write up the text of a motion/petition, and collect IMs from supporting BC IPSC members here, to start (easiest) - they'll have to provide you with their name membership number, and the text. Gather names form other BC IPSC, and see what comes out of it.

Most (if not all) of the IPSC BC members who did post in this thread are not (publicly) supporting Rob on this issue, for various reasons best known to themselves. OTOH, they are not exactly supporting the BoD's position either, so I doubt very much if any motion/petition attacking the BoD would get many names, if any. Members would, however, be in favour of an amicable resolution to this unfortunate affair before this runaway train becomes the proverbial train wreck.
Like it or not, politics is the biggest player of all. It's the nature of the beast. ;)

While I appreciate all the support and ideas, I think that perhaps the best option currently would be to email your zone director and the section coordinator and copy me on the email, letting them know your thoughts and concerns. If you support me or if you agree with the actions they've taken. My email is rob at activeshooter dot ca.

I'm not an IPSC member so (as usual), my opinion is probably worth squat. ;)

I volunteer for a lot of organizations (I'm retired) so I've seen my share of ego-driven boards. They piss me off too much so I tend to avoid them now. :) That said, while I can appreciate the fact they have judgement calls to make (that "we" may or may not agree with), there is simply no excuse for not following proper procedures when it comes to disciplining a member. Rules/procedures must be followed and they clearly didn't follow them.

Not sure what I can do or if they'd even read a letter I sent since I'm not a member, but if it helps, I'll fire off one to whomever you like.

While CGN may seem like the Center of the Known Universe this is not the place or the proper procedure to start any sort of petition. It comes down to members meeting at the appropriate time and place and in accordance with the accepted Robert's Rules putting forth a motion, discussion follows and finally someone calls the "question" on the matter.

All we can do here is show the BoD that started this that they are abusing their powers by not properley following the rules. And while that can be fun in its own way it means less than the time it takes us all to collectively post this drivel.... since in the end that is all it amounts to.

Funny how stuff comes back from the dead. This picture is from a number of years ago up in Prince George.

and the triple ban must have kicked in, can't login on the IPSC BC forums to see my reply to a post and to laugh about another one

I'm just reading this for the first time.

They turn a joke into a federal case.

What a bunch of tools.

I wish I'd got a DQ gift card when I got DQ'd. The treat would take away the sting and yes i did stay and become the squad #####.

I feel for you Rob and you have my support.

Isn't getting sanctioned with a match disqualification supposed to sting? Isn't that sting supposed to remind us to renew our commitment to staying safe when playing with loaded firearms?
