And....I'm no longer a member of ISPC BC in good standing

As a noob to IPSC/IDPA, what better way to indoctrinate someone than giving them a DQ card for their first f**k up? Then instead of leaving un-noticed and in shame, you could be like, hey, people here have a sense of humor!

Hearing about this BS makes me almost glad I'm not starting up IPSC in BC.

Be careful Doon, wouldn't want to see you kicked out too. Or to have a laundry list of people you need to apologize too (who weren't involved) to get back in..........

Sorry for the crap.

If a BC IPSC member is reading this.....Please step down from your post as you wasting the members' memberships fees on what appears to be a conflict of interest.....

sounds like an Old boys club situation where the son whined to his daddy about getting a gift card.....man up.......could be worse...you could have been given a gift card to Arby's....

apart from the legal speak.....simply put....the BC IPSC board is a bunch of BMW's (bitc_es, moaners and whiners)..so what it if its a gift card.....how much time and money have you spent on something trivial......

I hope all BC IPSC members ensure they follow the rules...better yet...make sure the Board follows the rules

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” Thomas Sowell

I like.

From all the information I have the complainant was not the BC person who received the gift card. So please refrain from attacking him, not that it would be right to attack him even if he was the complainant. I've always said if it bothered him I'd apologize to him.

I think the who point of this is silly over such a minor thing it got blowen up into a big thing now and most likely wont go away.

When I shoot I like to shoot for fun I've been invited to matchs but I dont really feel like going because i shoot to have fun not to get uptight about things be told you have to be on your tippy toes so you don't offend someone.

I think someone who complaind was at the place and might of been the person who asked what is that? Some people might be put off the sport if people do things to newer shooters its kind of like haseing someone some people just can't take it.

Me I would be like sweet free ice cream...

At least you gave them something useful... The week after shooting a 5 (yes 5) in full round of doubles the guys I hunt with decided to throw 2 20 inch frisbees over my shoulders instead of sending the clays (everything was safe before someone starts screaming about safety)

Jeez, I was about to spend a whole bunch of time and money to join, signed up for black badge....kinda seem like a bunch of wankers. Lots of other fun things to do in BC.

Maybe but one of the fun things to do is to shoot IPSC. Don't let this thread sway you away from the sport.

Take Care

Ya I know, but that's some pretty serious stuff going back and forth for a small prank. In anything else I've done as far as motorsports or any organized sport, a small joking gesture like that would never, ever be an issue. At races we throw bread crumbs on other guys RV roofs so the crows start scratching around at dawn driving them nuts. All good fun. :)

This is making me think about joining up this year was kinda hoping it would be a fun thing to do. Fun being they keyword if i cant rib on a guy for missing a shot or whatever this isnt for me.

If reading this thread scares you off of trying IPSC it's probably for the best.

People who do well at IPSC, and have a lot of fun at it, generally are not scared off by a few rough patches now and then.

For anyone in the north of B.C. who is really interested, I see Quesnel R&G has scheduled a Black Badge course for the first weekend of March.

Try it.....you might like it :)
