Maybe the fat lady never had a clear shot at the calf moose so she took the cow instead of going home with no moose meat.We were not there to ask her why she made the choice she did. Hope she is enjoying her moose meat as we speak .

The Level of ignorance comment wasn’t a personal attack. Ignorance is a word used to describe a situation when someone doesn’t understand it.
My beef wasn’t about the fact she did something that was legal. My beef was the fact that the original poster had to go out of his way to degrade someone because they are over weight. How would the post have looked if he had described the Lady as being knock dead pretty??
It doesn’t matter what she looked like, it should only have mattered that she did something he didn’t agree with. That’s my problem.
And perhaps if you feel the need to slam someone with your "DAFT" explanations perhaps its timed you moved on to a new job. You a MOD around here. Do your job, show some respect!
This lady deserved respect (As any of us do), she didn’t deserve to be called FAT on a board read by 1,000's of people. Why don’t we all get back in the sand box and start calling each other ugly or stupid heads..

Seeing as you're just learning english apperently and relying on the dictionary, let me offer this one:
In the north american venacular when you speak of someone as being 'ignorant' it has a negative connotation.
Further - when you're describing people has having a 'level of ignorance' because they don't agree with whatever comment you're making, it's CLEARLY an insult. the connotation is that these people are more stupid than you.

As far as the Ignorant comment goes, it wasn’t meant as a insult. Weather or not you took it that way is up to you. The fact is unless the original fellow happens to be a FAT guy himself, he doesn’t and nor do you understand the hate people hear when those types of slurs are thrown around.. So yes I am smarter than you when it comes to this topic.

I have felt the hate thrown about by folks. But you know that didn’t seem to bother me. (I was wrong) A person says "oh it just rolls of your back" But they are wrong a small chunk of every insult and embarrassment goes to the pit of your stomach and just sits there and grows until it reaches a boiling point.
I decided to do something about it myself. Still though I can feel the anger building up inside of me now when people make judgment calls on people just because of how they look. My life has gotten better but for many that may not have had the support I received it hasn’t. And for those folks, I will continue to stick up for them when they cant stick up for themselves.
Now if you have a problem with that and consider that "Stirring the pot" then feel free to bring it on. You know where to find me

And yes getting of the couch was a big first step.
Its a tough road, but one I made myself. I couldnt have done what I have so far with out the support I have been fortunate enough to recieve.
Still have a ways to go, but like I said, I am headed in the right direction.

Well - one could read it that way i suppose and this IS the internet after all, where it's easy to misunderstand intentions. I PERSONALLY didn't read it that way - but perhaps you're right.
I just personally don't see it as a degrading comment, but if it makes you feel any better i'll personally start simply refering to her as 'the lady' myself and leave out the fat bit.
Jamie - i jumped down your throat for one reason: I asked people to play nice and i did it politely and i feel you ignored that. First post, 100th' post, wouldn't have mattered i'd have been just as irked. Actually - if you'd been in a fight already with someone who'd insulted you i'd probably have been MORE tolerant, recognizing that at least you'd been provoked.
But i tell you what. If you're civil from here on out i'll be too and we'll just let it go.

However - i WOULD allow someone to say ' the guy was black'. Or "Some chinese guy".
Fat is not in and of itself a derrogatory term. Porker might be. Or the like. I can't really stop people from using the word 'fat' around here. It's a valid descriptive phrase.
However - i'm willing to discuss the matter further with you, but i think pm's would be more appropriate. So i'll pm you and we'll continue it there rather than hijack the thread any further.
I should think it WOULD be a great way to get the point across.
I've found in the past that when guys don't feel like following the rules, giving them a little taste of their own medicine can often do wonders
I'll always try the 'polite' way first, and then usually a little stronger warning, then the gloves tend to come off. But - the moment civillity is restored, then that's what people get back. As you can see .. your last post was polite enough (thank you) and i'm replying in kind.
Effective technique i'd say - and cheaper than therapy
Civil behaviour will be met with like, and so will insults. And i'm a pro (years of practice with nimrod before the rules came in ) so it's best to be civil.
