I have just learned that our erstwhile black powder geeks at Edmonton House are having a shoot later on in May. I would like to show up for the shoot and clean house with my naturally superior shooting abilities - but do ya have to 'dress up' for these things? If that's the case I can't go - my wardrobe comes from Value Village and goes back to the 50's and that's it!;)

Are there any other blackpowder shoots scheduled in Alberta, SK or BC worth going too? I intend to spend the rest of my life being a nuisance on the black powder ranges of the land, and burning more than my fair share of gasoline and powder.

Can there be any greater calling in life than that?

Wow, I had no idea such a club even existed in Saskatoon. That's pretty cool. Thanks for the info, I might have to look into that more some time.

Last Sunday, we had our Mother's Day Cowboy shoot in Prince Albert. Nothing fancy, just a regular monthly club shoot. We had over 25 shooters if you include some new shooters who only shot part of the day. THERE WERE FOUR PEOPLE WHO SHOT ALL BLACK POWDER!!! Five years ago I was lonely, Three years ago there was a couple of us. In another five years we will be in the majority. (I can dream can't I? - Just imagine all that booming and that wondeful smoke billowing across the range...........)

That shoot is at the Sherwood Park Range, May 27 - 29. "Dress up" is encouraged but not required - you'll see some great outfits. Better bring your sharpest eye and steadiest hand 'cause there will be some fancy shootin' and throwin' done. Contact is Elaine Xenos: ph 780 - 479 - 0075 or email at < xenos1@telus.net>. Se ya there!

I am limited to shooting at an approved range,my black powder activities so far have only resulted in one complaint that being from the guy next to me being sprayed with residue from my 1851 .44 "Yank". But I have been hit with worse from muzzle brakes so suck it up.
I would love to go to one of these shoots and if I have to dress funny well so be it.:)

There are shoots every weekend from now until Thanksgiving. Contact the AB, BC and Sask Black Powder Associations for locations and dates....hope you've got lots of balls.

Bob. There was you, me, and Kevin... did I miss someone?

Suppository guns and smokeless powder are a passing fad, IMO. I favour a manly propellant and will Goex or Go Home!

Flinter can you post some links to those scheduled shoots? I tried the site but couldn't find anything.

Cripes, I forgot about the knife and hawk throws! I better sharpen up lest I be humiliated yet again at the gun club...
