Another 1911 45ACP advice thread

I would say a Norc is a good first ,,,you can take it apart learn on it ,,,upgrade it really get to know the platform with no worries about big bucks if you mess up
Then you will know what you are doing on the more expensive pieces to the collection down the road

Wonder where all your Norinco 1911 hate comes from?

Not hate - more like annoyance. Imagine sitting down for steak dinner with your family and suddenly someone comes up to you and starts spouting the benefits of a vegetarian diet. Now imagine that this happens...every time you go out for dinner. That's how the rest of us feel when Norinco owners pipe in with their words of wisdom in every discussion about every imaginable firearm that takes place on this forum. I mean, there’s probably someone in the Blackpowder and Antiques section right now telling folks they should get a Norinco instead.

Got it - I see your point. :)

OP want a mid grade 1911 and some fools recommend a norinco, lmao ok...

I shot a sig tacops and owned many Springfield, trophy match, trp operator and range officer operator. Still have my trp and it's a great 1911 but between a range officer and a tacops, my vote goes to the tacops. More options, more mags, better sights and much better finish.

I'm in the process of buying a Ruger because it's a series 70 with some of the best ratings in its class. That's the one I'd recommend, even over Colt. The reason being is that you get the same quality as Colt without paying the extra 500 bucks for the name.

And the Commander size gets top billing from a lot of reviewers.

Way cooler name than "Norinco"; that is a very important feature that quadruples the accuracy!!!
