Another Bear Defense Thread

It's more where your place not theirs on the food chain you are. I have managed to stay at the top of the food chain so far , but there were times that the bear made that decision not me.

Not sure of the details. Doubt there were flip flops or a chicken coop involved. But I was wowed nonetheless.

Holey Crap !!! that Polar bear has to weigh 1400lbs . and it looks like a gut shot . I was talking to an older gentleman who after WW2 was stationed on Elis Island at a weather station . I hope I got the name of the Island right. anyways his story was as such . he told me the Eskimos used to use a 22 single shot rifle and shoot polar bears in the eyes so he said and due to the bear not being able to see the hunters they would finish it off with a large knife lashed to a stick used as a spear to make the kill . this Gentleman showed me photos of he himself hunting with the local's . it was pretty cool .

I wish I had those photos. he had a 32 Winchester lever model 94 and a Remington model 31 ? pump 12 gauge air dropped to him . I tried to get my hands on the Winchester but it went to his son when he passed away . ,
