The 30-30 Winchester has been the biggest seller "cartridge" of all time.
It has not exactly been flying off the shelves in the last ten years.

Anybody have any real stats on this?
The Number of rifles I have seen at the range chambered in 30/30 in the last 20 Years pales to the number of Lee Enfields up here in 303 and the number of rifles you see at our range chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor is staggering !It's most difficult to find official stats on the hunting cartridge of "all time." I mentioned the 30-30 Winchester because everyone owned them when introduced, and they are still purchased today. I don't think everyone owns a 6.5 Creedmoor. I would also think that the 30 "caliber" (.308 dia.) would be the most utilized of all-time.

While the 6.5CM is selling very well,I think it has a ways to go to compete with other cartridges as overall sales king.
The advent of the 22LR has already been mentioned.
But look at the 30-30 (or 30WCF). How many millions of rifles were sold by Winchester in their leveractions? Not to mention Marlin. Or all the other rifle makers and various actions that have also housed the 30-30.
It’s really not too difficult to notice other rifles in the rack when you get there, or brass in the trash when you toss your targets in .I generally don't take inventory of cartridges utilized at the range, not unless I'm inquisitive (nosey) to find out, which I'm not. However, I do aid people when I notice they are having difficulty with their firearm or an improper shooting position. I would have a difficult time concentrating on load development, or practicing various shooting positions while wasting my time knowing who is "what are you shooting?)![]()

I have only seen one 6.5 creedmoor at our gun club. And guess what. He was talking about it!
You are such a sore loser. Laughing!
Laughing! Where is the social justice in this world?

Laughing! Oh my.
They were surely flying off the shelf after 1894. I wonder if the 6.5 Creedmore will be flying off the shelf in 100 years from now?![]()
I log my results in a log book , much easier .I do see rifles in the rack, but I better get new eyeglasses, because when I walk by, I cannot see the stamped cartridge on the barrel. Targets, I take every---last---one of them home. Every target is market with load development and other information. As mentioned before, I'm not nosey and need to concentrate on shooting and safety.
